That combat animation screen just has me thinking how much better this game would look if it had pixel graphics. Imagine instead of discount Civ 5/Civ 6 meets average mobile game ad, it was like full on Advance Wars

Yeah… the art style they went with is pretty jarring They really should have done something more stylised or just more pleasant to look at than the low poly basic generic style they went with Might and magic 2 pixel art battles look way better visually than this low visual fidelity mess.

@@ashleywenner1050 This is not made by paradox, they just publisher. The developer is C Prompt, which probably no one heards of before this game. Consider they probably is a small group, the combat is totally acceptable for a 4x game.

The game looks pretty unique to me. It’s got the same theme as Civ, but its approach is way different. The graphics aren’t great, but I don’t play 4x games for the graphics.

There is an uncanny liking of the graphic aesthetic that is of the old games

Got to love how CA was terrified Paradox was closing in on them in regards of large scale realtime battles, proceeds to this game showing static animation bonking other static animation. I think CA can rest easy for another 20 years 🤣

CA's main enemy isn't Paradox, it's Sega. Sega sees no value in the Total War franchise - insisting that TW is too niche, not generic enough to have wide demand - hence the lacklustre Total War: Pharaoh and .... Hyenas.

Paradox wants to get in on the civilisation croud so bad but after humankind I wonder if this one will get as much attention EDIT: To be clear, I hope the game does well, it looks pretty fun, it's just that I am heavily cynical and jaded towards the paradox business model.

Nah, even with some of the jank behind Humankind, it looks better than this. So unless paradox is gonna give this a glow up before release I expect it to end up like Imperitor.

It'll be interesting to see this game develop, because I played a few campaigns before deciding to do a sponsored video and enjoyed them. Hopefully it turns out well and the studio developing it (C Prompt Games) can clean up some of the UI, since I think the actual gameplay-loop of different ages and this type of economic management is pretty unique

Bruh. Kleaper really tried to make this game look not as boring as it is. But its still obvious. Like every chaos event is basically: pay up or something bad is going to happen. Esthetics of the game are mega generic and not appealing. Battles do not require much thinking at all. Just gather army with bigger number and you win. The only interesting part is the age progression. But I dont think its redeeming enough.
