Conor Oberst And Friends 4/18 Bowery Ballroom Full Show
Комедия
The backing band in this video from left to right is:
Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth on guitar
Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem on keys
Clark Baechle from The Faint on left drums
Brian Chase from Yeah Yeah Yeahs on right drums
Nikolai Fraiture from The Strokes on bass
Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs on guitar (and as musical director)
Miwi La Lupa on horns
playing a Bright Eyes set with a Daniel Johnston cover and one Conor Oberst solo song.
As soon as this band walked onstage it became clear this show would be the single best thing to ever happen so I felt compelled to film it all on my iPhone 13, but I didn’t actually look at my phone so the cinematography is lacking and there’s probably lots of swaying and shaking which I hope you will forgive. I left the camera zoom in .5 the entire time except to zoom in on Nancy once when she was singing the Daniel Johnston song. She otherwise is unfortunately largely obscured by Lee Ranaldo’s music stand, which I also hope you will forgive.
After “Lover I Don’t Have to Love,” Conor brings his nephew onstage who makes a surprise announcement (seemingly also a surprise to Conor) that a new Bright Eyes album is out this summer.

This show was iconic. It was a dream come true. Thank you Conor 🫶
Thanks for breaking down the special guest list. That is bewildering. They didn't come near Texas with Friends sadly. This was a nice vicarious half life.
The person saying "this is the best thing that's ever happened" is amazing
I was 4 feet to ur right ty king

I love when two notes in you hear someone go "yesss!" That's a real fan. Me too.
Ummm…you’re amazing for this! I used to follow Conor around to different cities to see him live…and now I’m old and a mom and that’s my past. Watching this was such a treat to see him live again and see the whole show and feel like I’m there again! Brought me to tears!!!! Thank you for filming and posting this!!!
Conor and Lee Ranaldo on the same stage, more than a perfect match, it is a dream
Wow. Im just watching this at home and i started cheering at the end of I Believe In Symmetry. What a fantastic performance.
It's awesome to see musical history's legends recognizing and backing the greatest lyricist of our time. Conor was a special gift to those who tuned in, I hope he does this for many years to come. It's better than Bright Eyes, and I can't believe I'm feeling that.
can't believe i missed a performance with Nick Zinner & Conor. Thanks for posting.
He seems a lot better here than in a lot of the 2022-23 performances.

Thank you for this! This was a great show! As a fan since the beginning, this warmed my heart to see... He was in peak condition! And a new album this summer 🎉❤
Thank you!!!!! So amazing! Can never get enough live Conor! 💫💙
Thank you for this. Made it to the first show. This one though ❤
I'm only one song in but just need to say thank you so much for sharing this 😩😩😍😍
Genuinely cannot thank you enough for filming the entire thing uninterrupted, this is incredible. Also might wanna mention Miwi in your credits for Trumpet/Vocals on The Calendar Hung Itself (not sure if he plays more, watching now- thank you again!) EDIT: he was on a few tracks, and his trumpet solo on True Blue was sensational.
Thank you for posting I almost died so thankful to see^_^

Thank you!!🙏🧡
Thank you Bad head 💗
thank you for this, its rad
"There is no truth, there is only you And what you make the truth" It's actually crazy how esoteric this thought was 22 years ago (which, interestingly, was written when Conor was 22 years old)

Its funny how we've all aged...Conors older and so is the crowd Wow how the years have gone by from drugs to a wife and kids. Quit slacking Conor and make some babies before you get too old its the best thing ever. It seems to me the ones who think kids are overrated feel a lot of fulfillment when the boss man says good job kid your big promotion has finally comes due.... which ones really real though in the ethereal???

Nothing wrong with not having kids. Not everyone should have kids... Conor I think is one of those people. Unless he manages to quit the boozing and partying then I would imagine it would be pretty awful to bring a child into that atmosphere. Also, some people genuinely do not enjoy the thought of having them. A ton of people do it out of thinking they have to and are miserable parents who pass it onto their kids.
