Yeah guards are practically a non-issue once you know you can can guard the arm that does the coin flip and just keep it until the enemy dies effectively making him unable to tackle haha

Plus the fact that the lucky coin item's description does tell you that you can hold shift to use one to help your odds during a coin flip. It can be easy to miss if you don't read it of course but the game does provide the information.

Love that Fear and Hunger is what got Connor to care about the story part of a game.

It's always entertaining to see people play Fear & Hunger when they don't know what the hell is going on haha

It's so bizarre to me that F&H ended up becoming so popular lmao, i was convinced it was gonna stay an underground gem but i'm happy it boomed, Miro deserves the bag, he's a genius.

It's a great combination. It is the type of reaction pulling hype to draw crowds. But afterwards it carries the type of lore to keep fanatics loving it for years. And as a bonus if you are like "can the game come without as much "hate you" mess and more polish" then they can go play the sequel. It's the center of a venn diagram for a game that needed to pop off.

It makes me really happy connor is very enthusiastic to bring and introduce fear and hunger to other people and friends.

If you read the Lucky Coin's description, it literally says that you can hold shift to use it during Coin Flips. There's also an NPC called Ser Seymor that gives you some pretty useful tips like that you should guard if you feel like a dangerous attack is coming (Guarding blocks the enemies' Coin Flip attacks).

Don't diss my man ragnavaldr like that with the best attack stat in the game

@@grianjuju9438 absolutly not. guard arms have 300 hp, with most weapons early you cant 1 shot a guards arm ALONE, ragnavalder with axe start can go murder every guard for loot wtihout being scared

@@light3396 Guard arms only have 20 hp; 250 on Terror and Starvation. There's also the always relevant option to just NOT fight them.

i swear this game is harder without chat, before watching connor play the game, i didnt know : -you can tame the dog -you can give the girl the knife from the yard -you can write a spell from those blank scrolls -you can recruit the flying head magician ?!

What I love about this game and why I think it’s so great is that it forces you to go against everything you know about how to play a game because the answer to a problem in the game that you would normally think is right is typically the wrong answer. It’s a pretty cool and unconventional way to do a turn based RPG. Though, this game is DEFINITELY not for everyone because it’s very unforgiving and will never hold your hand or baby you. Plus, the RNG can be infuriating.

First time I played Fear & Hunger, I died by searching boxs for too long and dogs attacked me in courtyard

It's always watching new people experience F&H for the first time. I still remember restarting over and over again. Still not unlocked all the endings 😅

Dude the lore, world, and gods are so interesting and yeah after the second game. With peoples input and comments I’m sure that helped flesh it out better. It’s still amazing. And I can’t wait to find out more about this world.

Just a word of advice if anyone is reading this: When you get an empty scroll, to advance to the next verse use the enter bar. DO NOT USE THE Z BUTTON, or else you will get something like: O LORDZ GIVEZ WHITE ANGELZ, wasting your scroll. Also if you want to learn a skill in the second verse use TEACH, and if you want a certain item use GIVE. So yeah be careful with that!

I love the idea of the game, but the coin flip mechanic that screwed Garnt over is the exact reason I cant deal with trying to finish this game

Coin flips are genuinely easy. Each time a coin flip is about to start during a fight, you get a prompt like, "you feel the guard tensing up" or something, allowing you to guard through it. In regards to items, by holding shift,vyou can use a lucky coin

You don't have to play the 1st one to play the 2nd. You'll miss out on lore stuff and reference but otherwise both games are their own contained story. The 1st one is more dungeon exploration rogue like and shorter compared to the 2nd game which is longer, contains more events and is more character driven. I recommend both to be honest.

The gear Rag starts with appears basic, though depending on how you play him can be very awesome. However, I feel the average Joe may not play him to his fullest

I will not hear this disrespect for Ragnvaldr. He has the best growth potential and long-term survivability of any character in the game, flat out.
