When I try to Tun fault trace my laptop freezes, any idea as to why it happens? It reads the car and everything but when I click fault trace that happens

Anyone have any tips on how to fix the vida software not showing a dropdown or menu or button for me to hit dice under communication tool? It doesnt show up when I’m in ignition mode 2,1, off or running, and I know its connected to the computer and the car

@@kentd.6244 I figured it out, if you bought a dice clone, it more than likely wont use dice drivers, you need to install drivers for whatever the clone is disguised as, in my case my "dice" actually was a scanmatik sm2, once i installed the scanmatik drivers, i could use dice and was able to read codes, use hot functions, etc just like a normal dice. if your dice clone came with a cd it more than likely has the drivers you actually need on there. Let me know if this helped you because i was STRESSING trying to get this all set up lol.

Before this, do I have to install the drivers for Dice to the laptop? Nothing else? No need to "run the drivers"? Just start to use Vida, right?

Correct. If you have vida already running you should be able to plug and play.

Hi, quick question I picked up OEM fog lights for my ‘05 S40 at the junk yard. Will Vida Dice be able to “activate” these fog lights? What about the software?

No, but you may get lucky by simply slamming in a CEM from a doner car that had fog lights activated. To get VIDA to download software you would need a “real” version of VIDA plus a subscription from volvo.

How to make tcm software reload, is it possible do myself or i need to go for dealer? Can I use vida 2014 to buy this software, I bought emanual online and they provided vida but for that I need to use virtual box to login whether this vida will connect to DICE which I'm planning to buy

Not possible without getting a subscription service from Volvo. You can get a 1-day subscription so I hear but not sure it’s cost effective.

Hi from Calgary! Your bluetooth video worked like a charm! couldn't have done it without you. Now I'm having a hellofa time just getting VIDA to load. Computer is as specified. Not getting any help from supplier. IT guy thinks its a bad burn on the disc. Any suggestions?

Hi Tom, Well I also had some challenges getting VIDA to work. In the end I asked the seller to send me another CD and it worked. Was a pretty convoluted process to install though. Good luck.

From eBay. Just be sure to buy from a seller with lots of sales and good feedback.

i just got out my Dice and tried to connect to my C30 to read the specific code the car is giving me.. I have VMware with a win7 image and Vida 2014D but it seems i'm unable to get past the login screen now.. it used to be : 1 or : admin .. but none of these work now.. any tips on where to get and run a workable image of vida ? as long as i'm able to read codes and erase them.. weird thing is nothing changed in the WMware image other than the current date and it used to work years ago..

@@Bigtime_mcalpine tried that and it gives ma an error message saying the date is at least one day earlier than the las log in ... When I type 1, it just loads for 2-3 sec then it’s the same page (when it’s today’s date) Anyway, I’m installing a new VM image, it should work now

Thanks for the video! I have a question: If I erase a "PASS AIRBAG OFF, SERVICE URGENT" message, while their is something wrong with the passenger airbag, the message will reappear, right? I just want to make sure I don't hide a real issue if there is one. Thank you!

@@Vektr1 the clones are the way to go. Best bet is to go with one that has a ton of reviews or good feedback from a Volvo forum. Good luck!
