I have the first generation ipad mini and ipad pro and hook up the ravhub to both and had no problems. I hooked up a 5TB seagate external hard drive to and had no problems with it at all.

I have this setup with my iPad Pro. Thanks to your great videos. Question-While connected, can I use Lightroom Mobile to access RAW files? I’ve put some on the Samsung drive via SD card. Yet I can’t seem to access them.

Please answer this, what SSD hard drive would be the highest GB size compatibility the for ipad mini 2?

Them other youtube videos I watched didn't work even the apps didn't work that they told me about. When I used the apps the cd burner kept saying invert a blank disk, which means it doesn't work because I tried different cd name brand blanks. I used them on my tablet and android.So what ipads can burn cd's without using a app ?????

Can you not just get a "lighning to usb camera adapter" and hook an external drive to that and view the files on the hard drive through the ipad?

I am using a SanDisk iXpand 32 GB drive with a Lightning connector on one end and USB on the other. It plugs into the IOS device to transfer files in both directions and then into the USB port of a computer to transfer files in that direction. PNY has a similar device. WiFi is not needed. I believe there is also a 64 GB version and perhaps larger.

Hdd needs more power, this can't provide that much power, ssd needs less so they can work

@@amarsaini1548 Thanks for your response. But it works for my HDD 2TB . It doesn't works with password protected device. And my device was password protected. Once i removed password it start working.

Are you able to edit videos, fast forward and so forth in the same way you can had the video file actually have been on the ipad internal disk ?

+davefromlondon1 Its not as responsive because you are streaming the file, but it's still pretty fast.

@@jeradhilltech thanks. There's a cool app on iPad called ofilepro that has http protocol so you can access the same "iPad running app", but on a PC browser , and upload a file to the iPad. That's what I've been using to edit video on iPadas I like the native video screen capture on iPad as well as iMovie .

Yes. You do not need the device I mentioned in the video any longer. iPads support USB-C drives now. I’m posting an updated video shortly.

Any new External hard drive has their own iCloud over network cable or wi-fi app.That can be installed on the iOS device....

Very informative video. I recently purchased a 10.5 iPad Pro to start leaving my MacBook home. I have most of the things that I need to replace it with the iPad. The one thing I'm looking for is a way to transfer files from a usb flash drive, say Word documents, Excel, PDFs, to the iPad. Will this Filehub help me with this?

Imho I'd recommend using iCloud or a service like Dropbox for the kind of files you're mentioning. Not only is that less of a hassle, you'll know your files are synced and up to date.

But I meant if someone hands me a flash drive with PDF files that can't wait to be send over email or shared via cloud services.I know this example might be a little bit drastic, but this happens to me every once in a while. If I were to purchase this device, I would use it for the things shown in the video, but wonder if it would help me with this issue as well.

Ramon W Borges If the problem should be others handing you files then the solution would be asking them to change their ways and upload the files to whatever place (whatever type of place) on the Internet themselves. - If it should comfort you: I have almost entirely moved to the cloud for data and to mobile devices for managing those data. - The ultimate barrier in using an iOS device as a desktop replacement may be Apple's approach to keeping our devices from malware. This seems to include all file types except the ones deemed harmless. - I may already have two hardware solutions (one microSD-card reader for the lightning port and a wireless card reader) but the associated apps are subject to that protection.

Mine never connects to network, never broadcasts always stays blue on ipad pro, ipad 9.7, all samsung tabs. Ravpower all in one plus. Really sucks I have to send back.

I'm not hearing anything about what version of ios is necessary to use with this. I have a 16Gb iPad air from 2014, so want to offload some stuff. iPadOS is 12.5.7. I really wish that some blase Yt talking-heads gave some specs on supported equipment on their postings.

Just need a USB adapter to Lightening adapter now if you are running iPadOS 13. The RAVPower Filehub will help you do it wireless.

It still doesn't work. I have an adapter that has two usb plugs and a lighting plug for charging. I have converted my external drive to exFat. But I still cant see the external drive in my files.

Try the Atolla powered USB 3.0 Hub. When plugged into a power source, it generates enough power to allow you to connect an external hard drive to your iPad.

Apple, making things more difficult for their customers and encouraging 3rd parties to find solutions to their messes.
