Yes but the actors of today cant match gajraj rao, ranveer shorey,Paresh rawal and evan john abraham the way he potraid the caractere his swag his smoking and his expressions john is a bit under rated and no one of today's actors could bring it atleast as close as this. Maybe pankaj tripathi vould play paresh rawal's role and do it good

No Smoking was one of the best movies of Bollywood! ❤ I like that you tried to explain the endings without over simplifying them. I firmly believe most of the psychothrillers are meant to be ambiguous, and open to interpretation; and that a single theory or interpretation can never be enough to explain their complexity.

My attempt to explain fellow viewers because this guy just copied a comment from an random online forum which I read like 3-4 yrs ago The real explanation of the movie comes in the opening scene itself when he finds himself in russia running towards the bath tub ( where he is being consulted by a psychiatrist and the doc says this - tumhe aise sapne is liye ate hain kyu ki tumhe dar lagta hai ki kahin cig na mili to kya hoga tumhara ) 2 things are very important in the movie one being the bath tub another being his mental issue ( Just like most chain smokers he is suffering through anxiety which his actions clearly show ) his fear and anxiety combines and cause him to see things which never even happn yes like he said we only see his perspective but his own perspective is a illusion he cant decide whats real and not real anymore ( Mental issue which the doc says and K is even on meds ) and after every recovery he finds himself near the bath tub or in it which for us means he is in the real world but that difference starts to fade slowly as he loses his mind to anxiety . The fight against no smoking causes his mind to collapse 1. He never even meets paresh rawal ( in reality ) but goes to see him in his anxiety filled mind ( illusion ) 2. The time he looses his hearing is due to an car accident in reality ( but his mind was focused on the no smoking) 3. in the end we see his bath tub in the nazi chamber ( which he sees and recognizes and even asks a fellow and he says - han hum sab isi se yaha nikle ) means he now thinks the symbol of getting out as the path of getting in this is when he looses his mind 4. in the final scene we see him dressed exactly how he was before the no smoking thing started this means now everything he was dreaming has become his reality. 5. His wife never was murdered , bro died due to his medical condition in a hospital , paresh rawal dosent even exists ( confirmed by the cops ) and when in the very last scene after everything he wakes up we see him 2 less fingers ( but in reality he is still sleeping and just dreaming ) 6. The ringtone which paresh has on his fon is the same famous thing ( slogan ) hilter used to say and even uses nazi methods to execute ppl and says hilter was his relative or something lol you remmber the opening scene ? he haven't yet met paresh but dreams about a nazi army from the start who stop him from smoking . 7. During the song phook dere while he walks on the street ( on the new year even night) he sees grown up men dressed as santa ( but if its new year Christmas is already over and no one will walk around as santa in that time) which means he even switches memories.

Also, in Andhadhun, what proves that he's making the story up is that he tells Sophie he came abroad with a friend's help but when Tabu actually blinds him, he calls up Sophie and no one else, showing he has no friend. Also, another scene between Maushi, Murli and Akash when they bring him to the hospital he says he has no relatives, no friends either, when maushi offers him her phone to make a call! P.S. I love you work! ♥️

Well I disagree with no smoking one . It could be another perspective about the cbfc and get government interference but after watching the film like 10-20 times and after asking it's interpretation from various filmmakers and some actors I came to conclusion that- The film was not only from 'k's' perspective, but also from his soul's . Baba Bengali never existed . K actually went to normal doctor Paresh Rawal but leaving an addiction is a hell of a process for your body . His body thought this doctor is a traitor who only punishes. His soul hated him . His dirty soul was trapped in the end and after bathing he could actually see himself from the mirror - the actual John . The two fingers were the ones which were used to hold the cigarettes . The missing fingers meant he actually left smoking The coins etc were all part of this freaking masterpiece (Sorry for any grammatical errors, wrote fast)

@@abhishekshrivastav6162 the story in the beginning of the movie about that pizza delivery guy(played by Akshay Oberoi) getting stuck in a haunted apartment is fake. He was handed out some uncut diamonds by his boss in a chocolate box which was meant to be delivered to his boss's house. Akshay Oberoi's wife takes out some chocolate and finds diamonds there. Out of greed the couple concocts a fake story about how Akshay delivers a pizza in a haunted house and how his wife gets killed by that ghost. In reality both his wife and akshay is alive and they tries to run away with diamonds after akshay delivers his last pizza of the day. The house where he delivers was actually haunted and similar events takes place which was there in his cooked up story such as “Bhaag Dk Bose" song on the TV and the bill of Rs 450. To sum up he becomes the victim of his own move.

Although the ending scene of no smoking resembles the death chamber, but the meaning is different in this case. If you remember, paresh rawal in the movie had said that the soul is pure when we take birth and eventually we make it impure by bad habits n all. So in the end inside the hot chamber, he purified the soul by removing the dirt which was represented by their skin. In the end you could see pure souls moving here and there. That's my theory. I have some additional understandings but not now. Ping me if you get it.

For stree movie i have another personal theory, in the first half of the movie when pankaj tripathi's charecter was introduced , his phone rang "shama hay shama hay ye pyaar ka" ,then he answers the call and says "haan shama aata hu" ,but in later part of the movie when Rajkumar Rao went to Rudra bhaiya for information regarding stree from his books collection, Rao asks tripathi " aap itne kyun peetey hain?" In answer to which he replies "shama k yaad me." This shama charecter isn't shown in the whole movie for a single time. Who exactly is shama, and those pages were missing from the book i guess Rudra bhaiya intentionally removes those pages. What do you think?

Good one 👌👌 just a correction..in Error 404 you said d character suffers from bipolar disorder but Bipolar Disorder causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks, there are 4 types also. It's not a condition where a person see's the dead(if it's not a psychosis) though I have not seen the movie (will be seeing it now). Well on that note..why don't you make a list of movies where they show psychological disorders which are named wrong(maybe they did not research it well).. Thanks 👍

In 'No smoking' the cutting of fingers represents the characters not being able to smoke, but in the very end John's character 'k' gets a box containing his finger while he is suggesting his friend the same rehab to quit smoking, similar to this in a prior premise when 'K's' friend ( Salim I guess) refers 'k' the rehab or prayogshala. so this whole finger returning thing seemed like some kind of award for referral, can you explain something about this @tried and refused productions
