i have a question, in the video we saw the revenue in the last months as around 60k per month but how much is left out as profit for the guy as it seems that theres so much expenses and cuts to other people. what this guy did is amazing not giving up on the business and solving the problems that came with it to reach this level of success, mad respect.

70% went to actual car owner + lot fees + car wash fees + operational costs (office, overhead, etc) 60k was a high month, so if you did 40k x 30% fee is 12k - 2k (guessing) office/operational fees- car wash company 2k - lot fee 3k = 5k month net, these are guestimates of course

The clients have always been making solid profits - there would be no clients if they weren’t. But as owners, we’re finally starting to Turn a good profit as well. The model works best at scale so it’s taken some work to get here. Just takes time running a business. You’ve gotta not be greedy to start which encourages more people to work with you and use your service. Then you start to see the real successes down the line if you’re patient.

I am buying my first turo car next week. I'm so excited and can't wait to list it. I'm starting out with a cash car, Mitsubishi Mirage. Wish me luck 🙃

The money I spent I thought I wasn’t going to have to do any work but I guess not. But I will be here all day telling what is wrong with the car, the motor n trans are good because I driving the vehicle but I’m not ready to rent it out! I’m looking at purchasing another car soon because this time I’m think the worse until I can see the car is a good car. Because it’s income tax time and I’m sure it’s a lot junk out here..

honestly I see so many things that could go wrong with this business model. It's expanding too fast and things are going to start falling through the cracks. Too many moving parts, buying cars at dealer price...if they dont already in house maintenance would be great. Just so much overhead. The car trackers are nice but on the website they are 300 a piece per car. Theres a lot of moving parts here and I'm skeptical to see if they're actually turing profit. Lot of overhead with actual employees...and then cohosting makes ownership messy. Something is bound to make this come apart

Yep that’s why I run no more than 15 cars at a time and I do my own washes/oil changes and I have no overhead. I use a public lot and carry minimal insurance. It’s the only way to make it work.

I do think you should get back into turo. But also look at a Laundromat or landscaping business. The landscaping business isn’t that expensive to start. And the laundromat is all cash. That’s what I’m going to do when I am a little older.👍🏻 Great video!

This guy is resourceful. If he can do this he should find a way to ditch Turo. Turos relationship with the car owners is lopsided. Cut them out and Increase top line revenue by 25-30%

Because these companies BLEED cash and are barely profitable. Add in the nearly unlimited risk that you assume as a host and you have a recipe for disaster!

The amount of profit you're making will never pay for the costs you'll incur when the customers car get trashed and needs to be repaired. You're leaving yourself liable for almost everything. Imagine a car comes back with a blown engine or transmission, the driver will just say they got it that way, and you'll be on the hook for the repairs.

Why not get those unlimited car wash for $10-$15 per car and use that.

Im sorry i run Turo in the HARDEST AND most EXPENSIVE place in the world. NYC and if your losing money its because its internal. Its really not that difficult running a 20+ fleet. But i do have business experience though 😂

Turo is a bad idea that just keeps getting worse. Hosts getting squeezed by the major rental car agencies dropping prices. HUGE risk as a host with very limited and unpredictable upside. A complete lack of transparency ensures that hosts never know what Turo actually charges the guests. Horrible customer service regardless of whether you are a host or guest. Why would any intelligent person use Turo?

what a bad fleet to run. dont ever buy these newer cars such a waste. so much depreciation and overhead. i have a fleet, we only buy facebook marketplace cars for super cheap, used no depreciation, and rent em for like 38 a day minimum then upcharge more than that on extenders with our cars because extenders are super common because its usually locals who needs cars temporarily. so average daily rates are like 45 a day after extensipns. and even without extensions theyre still 38 a day so solid money on the 90 plan. we chose the 90 plan because turo suck dealing with claims so we only plan on using turo in the event a car is totaled or something but other than that well always manage claims with guests direct and us being on the 90 plan gives us extra buffer money to use for repairs if needed plus guests out of pocket payments.
