Conflict Through The Eyes Of Children: A Palestinian-Israeli Friendship (Extraordinary Documentary)

Фильм және анимация

Two girls meet through digital educational project. Samar's father comes from the (Palestinian) Occupied Territories. Linor's family was evacuated from a Jewish settlement. Only 67 kilometers apart, yet an ideological gulf stands between them. The girls meet and an instant bond is struck. Nevertheless, reality overpowers the friendship.
In this engaging discussion, we delve into the journey of individuals who have navigated the complexities of transferring between Jewish and Arab schools, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs they faced along the way. From familial influences to societal expectations, we uncover the nuances of identity formation in a diverse world.
But it's not just introspection-we also tackle pressing current events, offering perspectives on rocket attacks, military responses, and the delicate balance between security and civilian safety. Through heartfelt conversations and genuine reflections, we invite you to join us on a journey of understanding, empathy, and connection.

The girl's show empathy should be far more powerful than ideological prejudice. Linor's grandma shows how prejudice can rot the mind following years of othering and seperation.

These girls have such a great understanding of the meaning of friendship, love and humanity at such a young age. Racism, fear and bigotry is taught and it usually starts at home. I have hope for the future. These are smart girls.

Grandmother continues to propagate hate. Children are not born with racism, the seeds are planted, and cultivated, by the adults around them. It's sad. I live in Canada, and grew up around many different ethnicities. I've had friends from all over the world. My life is so much better for that reason. The world would be pretty boring if we all looked the same, dressed the same, acted the same, ate the same foods...😐

I didn't forget that part - the conflict, the long history...I just didn't want to comment on it after watching this film. This film was about how much more we're alike, and putting differences aside ❤️.

Kids are born prejudice free. Religion, parents, and environmental circumstances create anger, hatred, and division. In a world where were all suppose to accept people for who they are, its odd that Religion is the exception for 2 people to not like each other.

There are so many grudges held between both cultures. Understandable to a point. The principle of the school was really great. Teaching those girls that we are all Gods children. The young girls were so excited to meet and really liked each other. But the grudge and hate from the past killed it all. This gave me a little bit of hope though. These young girls will grow up to have their own minds and will remember they met a wonderful friend once. While respecting their elders they may still be capable of seeing the possibility of getting along if they can think for themselves. 🙏

Justice leeds to peace! Palestinians need their own safe space aka State! They need the time to heal from oppression and brutal occupation. The illegal settlers should give the stolen land back to the rightfull owners. And after justice is restored, I am sure there is chance for peaceful coexistence and eventually fruitful connections! God bless ❤

Wrong. It's a failed colonial project that displaced hundreds of thousands of the indigenous population off their land. It's in its final stages of apartheid which will soon come to an end. Learn your history. Jews saw the most peace during their when the Middle East was controlled by the Muslims. Jews have been largely persecuted throughout Europe whilst under Christian control. Even until now, most hate crimes against Jews are commited by right wing ultra nationalists in Europe and the US.
