One additional point - a conference is MOSTLY about networking (for job opportunities, grants, collaborations)! Therefore, I would always have 1 slide about my institution, and academic "life-history" at the very beginning of my talk, and show my Twitter handle on the cover slide when people are waiting. That way, I make it easy for people to stay connected with me after the talk.
I think the challenges is presenting data to make sense for the participants. Visibility is top priority and try not to make it too complex... overwhelmed. Need simplify and good colour usage...limit the choice.
I have to perform a presentation for my first published paper, thanks for this.
Thank you so much Andy this video is incredibly helpful! I am presenting for the first time at a conference next week.
thank you for this useful video, i am presenting in an international conference in person for the first time and I will use these techniques. thank you
My supervisor is an excellent communicator! She is amazing! I hope I learn the skills from her
I'll be presenting for the first time, at my first conference invite next week in Denver. I'm terrified, but I typically do well in front of crowds having been in a band and holding meetings for Field staff. I definitely need to practice hard.
Thank you so much. Your tips have been immensely helpful.
Thanks Andy, your contents have been helpful
Filling an audience with confidence is the best motivator. Thanks for these great tips!

You're so welcome!
I'd like to know your opinion about the cue cards? For some, it is a taboo to use them, for some it is absolutely fine. Have you ever talked about it in any of your videos?

You need to feel your audience with confidence...Noted 🤣🤣🤣

I'll put it on my list!
Max just use 10 slide with visual reference. Only one or two quotes.
Just go straight on the issue, u know we have lack of time

I don't bother with zoom conferences. Paying 300+ just to sit in front of the computer. 90% of the benefits I get from the conferences don't come from the talks. They come from the talks among peers around the lunch table or in the halls.
No latex
Talk less please.. i chose 2× speed still you did not get to the point 🤦🏻♀️
