Thank you very much for the review! I was looking at this knife, but was a little skeptical. After this video, I think I gotta pick this knife up. I'm excited to try this in Algonquin Park up here in Ontario. Keep up the amazing work!

I considered a Wayfinder but decided against it mainly due to the divot in the handle. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hey great vid! I got one question if anyone knows, do you know how easily does 1075 get any rust? I mean do I have to oil these knives very frequently to keep them functioning and stuff?

All of Condor knives I have came with sharpness of spines on the wrong side. I am a rightie. I use the left side of spine to scrape but they are sharper on the right side. Easy enough to fix but better attention is definately needed in manufacturing. Their design I dig. But not the QC. I kinda see yours is the same way. Good vid.

Smkw called this a hybrid sheath. They said large to allow attach loops and scout carry? Not sure. Love the knife.

Cool knife but not a fan of the sheath or the price, I like the swamp romper better. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

I like the Swamp Romper as I own 2 (did you watch my videos on it?), but it is 1075 whereas the Ripper is 1095. I also prefer the micarta scales and size of the Ripper over the Swamp Romper I actually like this sheath a lot, especially after carrying it and breaking in the leather dangler. This knife caught my attention last year but there is almost no good reviews thanks for sharing . I agree that sheath makes no sense. Why waste all that kydex but also knife users prefer a slimmer profile on their hip? I would take a belt sander and remove that outer lip or even could just remove their eyelets and add your own closer to that edge line.

After wearing the sheath, it's not a big deal, just looks odd. I like this knife, a lot, and the quality on mine was excellent. If you are on the fence I say buy one. Thanks for watching.

Are you sponsored by Condor? You sure have a lot of them. How do you sharpen a Scandi with a curve? I've never seen anyone show how. The quality very nice overall. As for the sheath, you shouldn't expect it to go "snap" when there's nothing to snap over. Does it have a drainhole by the way? I agree that they shouldn't have all that extra material on the sheath.

No sponsor but I wouldn't mind if they offered to give me some knives. I've paid for all of my Condor knives. Sharpen it like normal just follow the curve. Yes it has a drain hole in the sheath. Thanks for watching.

@@sameold77 Actually I don't understand about the sharpening. The usual claim is that scandi's are easy to sharpen because you can just lay the bevel flat on the stone. The blades of traditional scandi's are straight, except for the tip area, so that works for most of the length of the blade. But with a continuous curve, what are you supposed to do?

This or the Wayfinder? That's the quastion..

  • @sameold77

I do not own the Wayfinder but nearly bought one because I really like the blade shape. The handle is what convinced me not to buy it. That metal divot insert was asking for discomfort or eventual fail. IDK, maybe not, since I've never held one. But the handle on this Ripper is great. I would say buy this one and don't look back. If you can get your hands on both beforehand, that would be best. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Great knife - the retention of my sheath was HORRIBLE however. Do not trust it at all. Not sure If I can heat gun fix it or not. Its always always something with this company.

Just heat up your kydex, it’s just thermo-mold plastic. Hell while your at it make your own sheath, it’s easy.
