Things happen for a reason. I love knives but at 49 years old I’ve struggled with my faith most of my life. Then I stumbled upon your channel watching a lot of your knife reviews and it really hit me when you read some scripture at the end of your videos. I have been lost most of my life, but then He saved me, a wretch and a sinner! He loves us and his Word is His gift to us! Another great video Sir . I had a KTac and even though it's an amazing blade I didn't really get on with it and gave it to a mate . I love Condor and have several overall my favourite has to be a Pack Golok and I think you would really enjoy it aswell .... pretty light but a very powerful chop ...even more so than the kTac .

Great video Gus I have been looking at this Kukri for awhile now and have had it saved in my amazon cart. I do own several Kukri's as well a couple from Napal 2 browning ones a K-bar combat kukri but have been wanting to ad another one to the collection and this condor might be the ticket. I will say though it is hard to beat a true kukri from Napal though.

Man it really is when you look at how thick the Nepal ones are. My buddy has one that is no BS 10mm thick. My EGKH Panawal is 8.7mm (thickest) . Another cool review mate. I have the HD Kukri from Condor. I had to thin out the edge a bit but now it bites well. I had the King Kukri but it was just too fat/thick to be useful. I have a few Kukris from Nepal, they’re awesome.

I don't know where you live, but even in my mid sized city of 150,000 people there are 2 beggars on every single intersection. Help people? Shit, I can go get gas, run to the grocery store, and by the time I get home I'll have passed or been approached by no less than 10 beggars/homeless people.

Depends on the grind! If you have a convex grind use a belt!

Ah yes the Khukuri like object from Condor. Its more expensive then if I buy one hand made from Nepal. Of which I have three. One with a 15 inch long blade, one with a 12 inch long blade and even a little one with a 6 inch long blade. And to chop you use the widest part of the blade, closer to the tip. I've watched video's of guys in Nepal using the. If your interested I get all my Khukuri's from "Khukuri House Thamel" Yes the sheath's are a tad bulky, but I am a leather worker and I'm working on a nice new leather sheath for my Khukuri with the 12 inch blade. All three of mine are made from 5160 Spring steel. I.E. Leaf springs from Mercedes Benz trucks or British land rovers. I guess they have the best.

“Kukri like object” 🤣🤣 I’m gonna have to rename the video and pay you a spiff 😂🤣 I have 3 from EGKH, the 3rd one was good lol. The Nepalese ones are made from leaf springs. This was one I found that was actually a knife and not a “machete” like so many others! I would be interested in seeing your leather sheath!

@@longrider42 I bough the short “iraq” one and it kept wanting to fly out my hand when I was chopping. I bought the “No.1” and it came broken but the 3rd one I got it super nice and sturdy. I think there is a video on in labeled EGKH Kukri in my library :) they get bonus points bc they sent me a Keychain:)

I tell ya if you really wanna try a amazing kukuri for a reasonable price. I highly recommend GGK . The man that runs it is Darnal Purna. Very nice man . Anyway look for the super fast 12 kukuri. We all juggle knives did a video on these. I would highly recommend getting the traditional handle with the rat tail tang. Kukuri were made a certain way for a reason. The tang the traditional way stops vibration and is very easy to repair. Americans have a way of trying to fix something that isn’t broken. Think about this look online for pictures of traditional kukuri breaking at the tang. Let me know if you find anything. My other thing about these kukuri is they are 5160 my absolute favorite big knife steel. When done right nothing is better. How is the edge retention on the condor? I’ve read lots of bad things. Which doesn’t mean anything nowadays especially without personal experience. I don’t know anyone personally that has kept anything condor. Only a KZread guy I respect and he said he wasn’t buying the new stuff anymore it wasn’t the same. I’m waiting for the condor terra machete to give them a try. It’s still rather expensive for a machete. Anyway that’s my long book waiting for my coffee.

You seem to get out in the woods and actually use your stuff. I was wondering how much experience you have with tomahawks and what you thought of them as compared to a kukri or other large chopper as a tool for bushcrafting and woods survival. The tomahawk has a lot of history in North America as both a weapon and a survival tool. I carry a CRKT Kangee T-hawk strapped to my pack and it does most jobs pretty well, from chopping to fine chores. I've field dressed and harvested game with it, and it was straight scary how well the Kangee was able to cut apart a couple deer I harvested last season--the pelvis, sternum, and larger long bones were no match. I can only imagine how gruesome effective it would be in combat. Anyways, I have been tempted to invest in a kukri, such as the Ktac, or other large chopper, but I really can't see what it would do better in the woods than a decent tomahawk, and I was wondering if you had some input on this.

Hey Robert! Great question and thanks for reaching out! I do have plenty of experience on tomahawks and hatchets and axes as thats what i grew up on. Ive used large bowies for the past couple years, and started integrating the Kukri in to my field travels less than a year ago. I looked at your Tomahawk, and the tactical ones aren't necessarily ones that i would carry. In my opinion, a tomahawk should have a hammer on one side. Now, I'm not so dern primitive that I'm out building log cabins in the woods ( i wish i had the money to do so lol) so depending on your use a hammer may not make too much of a difference. I have tried out some smaller tactical tomahawks, and i find they are fine camping / hiking tools. Ultimately, with any axe or tomahawk I carried, I always had a belt knife. Going to the Kukri discussion.... I enjoy a larger Bowie, but PREFER KUKRI for wood processing. The reason is this: SAFETY! After long days in the woods accidents are prone to happen, whether to yourself, or to your tools. Breaking a handle SUCKS! I know that a good quality FULL TANG Kukri will not break, and it can serve as a secondary knife should something happen to the belt knife. It also works way better as a machete in thick brush. Ever get lost in the woods hunting or come to some 10 foot tall thorn bushes you gotta clear? Aint doing that with a Tomahawk.... The Kukri allows you to slim down the weight and multitude of tools you can carry. This benefit of the ONE TOOL OPTION as so many like to go with, is only a benefit should you invest in a quality one. Dont be out there breaking your one tool lol. Also, do not buy any "machete" Kukris. The KTAC is great, and Condor makes another survival one that is what Alan Kay carried, If you think Tomahawks are devastating to flesh, Try a sharp Kukri. Its like sending a mini-Kopis through any tissuel :) Hope this helps! Thanks again for reaching out and commenting! (also the Nepalese Kukris can be indestructible)

@Gus Wolf Wow, great response! I appreciate you taking the time to reply in complete sentences. That is getting to be a lost art these days! I got the Kangee because my wife and I visited a local business that teaches you to throw tomahawks, and I was hooked from the get-go. Watching a tomahawk spin and then the energy it has thumping into that log end was addictive. I needed a tomahawk I could practice throwing, and they recommended it be one piece of steel and have as much edge or pointy stuff on the end as possible, and the Kangee seemed to fit the bill. It does indeed throw extremely well, and pressed into service for woods and camping chores has done pretty well. I could see myself eventually getting a more traditional tomahawk with a hammer pole, but for now, the Kangee does what I need of a tomahawk. I consider banging on things to be pretty hard work, so if I need to hammer something, I am more likely to use the tomahawk or a folding saw to create a baton rather than just bang on my tool like that. Yes, I do carry a belt knife, regardless. I have a Tops HOG 4.5 that I love. I never leave home without it. Interesting points about things breaking and clearing brush. I am enough of a knife aficionado that I will probably inevitably end up with a kukri. I've just been using axes since I was about five or six, so they have been my go-to for a long time. I too enjoy throwing a good axe and have been considering some throwing tactical tomahawks…probably starting with a cheaper one like a SOG. Been working on my Bowie knife throwing skills the past couple of months. like complete sentences, throwing a bowie is kind of a lost art :) Thank you for taking the time to comment as it helps me grow the channel!
