Looking forward to see your video on snowboarding. Never tried freeboard but I'm a snowboard newbie myself. I live in the mountains now, so made sense to learn and it's a ton of fun.

Hope you have an amazing time snowboarding...take some ass protection...!! ..I'll be interested to see how they compare. I've been boarding since 1999. And never skated or surfed...my mate who learnt with me said all his years of skateboarding didn't translate to the board for him...a few years ago I bought my daughter a wave 360 and that was a blast....problem I had was stopping ..I could easily get into speeds where jumping off it would end in a huge accident.... So this combo of skateboard and 360 wave looks super interesting. Fingers crossed for some good snow....

Hey, I´m a Freebord newbie and want to expand my knowledge. Somehow your videos doesn´t go deep enough for my hunger and it is not easy to find experienced information. You are just saying da Blues are the best, but why? Are there no cheaper alternatives? I´m a Longboarder and there are special wheels for better sliding and there is a bigger lip advantageous but I dont think it it is necessary for a Freebord. What about the hardness and size? I also saw different shapes of the center wheels. Every newbie is interested about the best size of the deck. What about the bindings? Where to buy? What is the best position? What for shoes to wear? And and and....

Lots of questions. Here's my best way to answer each one as someone who's been riding for a little under a year now. . I like riding with shoes with laces to them. I've tried slip on shoes like MANY skateboard riders use, and it doesn't feel 100% secure to me. Using any sort of shoe with laces that you like will work fine. . What edge wheels should you get and why are the DaBlues so popular? . The answer is to take a look at the Freebord Europe store and then look up if your local skate shop has longboard wheels of the exact same measurements. If they do, you're in business because while not a 100% perfect replacement to actual Freebord wheels, you'll still be able to ride using them. As for why DaBlues wheels are so popular, the reason is because of their stopping power, and also because of how LONG they last. Something like the Cascades (which come standard with new Freebord 5 and 5x boards) are great, don't get me wrong, but they do wear down over a few months, whereas the DaBlues can last potentially more than double the amount of time so long as you're not consistently going on steep, rough hills literally every single time. 😅 . What center wheels to get? Thankfully Freebord has made the choice easy, because at the moment I they only sell this model: Boro center wheels. They're RIDICULOUSLY (and I mean RIDICULOUSLY) durable, and are in my subjective opinion a fair bit better than older generation center wheel designs. Not that they were bad, but Freebord did an amazing job with these. You can buy replacement Boro center wheels on the Freebord Europe store, OR you could buy rollerblade wheels (because that's essentially what center wheels on a Freebord are derived from) in 72mm by 88a. . Where do you buy replacement bindings, and what ARE they anyway? This is a question I get asked a ton while I'm out riding my Freebord 5x. Bindings on a Freebord work the same as they do on a snowboard, except you're intentionally not 100% locked in. That's why I tell people to not be nervous about the bindings since they're actually super well designed in the sense that regardless of speed, bailing out successfully is pretty much guaranteed. As for where to find replacements? These things are honestly so freaking durable that it takes a LOT to make you need to replace them. You can get new ones on the Freebord Europe store if you needed to, however I personally have not had to replace mine yet; they just have a few nicks and scratches, nothing more. I hope this answers some of your questions! 😊

Good questions! I actually cut out a whole bunch of rambling about wheels because I thought it was boring. Perhaps Ill do another comprehemsive guide to Freebording which goes into all these things. As for why they're the best in my opinion: -They have the best stopping power -The Eurathane isnt too soft that the wheels flatspot easily (so they last) -They don't make a horrid noise that cheap wheels make I'd say DaBlues are worth what you pay for them new, but I personally just buy second hand boards which have them already (rather than buy new). Hope this helps :)

@@justalpha9138 Thank u for the infos, I think I found the right place here. I´m rinding my freebord for one month now and it runs ( I have Snowboard skills). At the moment just in the City but Harz Germany is just 40 minutes away and I cant wait for spring and more experience. I have an older 2nd hand model and the bindings has sharp edges, ist not nice. Is there just FREEBORD and no alternatives? Freebordeuropes range is low some how, where to get white bindings? Ohhh sorry for my questions🤣....I´m really missing an ultimative Freebord video guide...I whish u all a great week.

I wonder if this would help you learn to slide on a skateboard or longboard more easily.... you make the backside slide look so easily. It msut feel interesting. you obviously don't use the same form as on a skateboard though.

That I don't know, however the sliding and how intuitive it is makes stopping on a Freebord a piece of cake even at high speeds and I adore it for that alongside everything else. 😁

Hey, looks like you are in the UK, where are you finding these second hand over here? I am a skate and this video has me intrigued, id love to try it out but there is no way im dropping 500 euros on a brand new one when I dont even know if I will get alone with it. Any tips on where to look? or is it a case of just constantly keeping your eye on ebay until one pops up?

Cheers for the reply, I have watched that video and as such would like to try and find a g3r, I've set alerts for eBay in case one gets listed. I was worried you'd say Facebook as I don't use that site, but I guess I'll just have to play the waiting game for a while. Unless you have one you wanted to sell, even if it was wheel-less? XD Either way cheers for the introduction to these boards, hopefully something will come up before too long for me to grab and try!

@@Zeoanchropolis Ebay has them come up but there's more buyers there. I saw a brand new G3R Owl Deck with DaBlues go for nearly $150 (although it was completely brand new, and that's a lot of people's favourite board). If you don't have facebook then Ebay probably is your best bet. I probably do have enough parts to build you a spare but it would be g3 rather than g3r, although imo theyre both good. Maybe keep an eye out on ebay for a few months first though! :)
