    Enjoyed reading the comments. I am the engineer who designed the machine about 11 or 12 years ago. Yes the machine is safe. Yes it is loud. If you use water there is no issue with silicosis. It must be operated in well ventilated areas. It is a diesel so Carbon Monoxide is not a huge issue like gasoline. This operator and company are good at what they do. It is not overkill for the Blade size. This machine actually had an even larger blade.of 60" diameter.

    A blade that size is at least $2,000. Possibly more depending on the type of blade. You have some blades where the diamonds are bonded a certain way to deal with excessive rebar. And a few other types. They're super pricey.

    You should not be at cutting speed until that blade is in the cut line. Once you lower the blade a couple inches in the cut line you can increase speed to what ever it is you want it at. And always lower your RPMs when you pull the blade out of cut. This is just for safety reasons but the other reason is your blade is clearly wobbling at the higher RPMs and is cutting or wearing into the water supplies lines inside the blade guard. So lower RMPs until inside cut and lower RPMs when you pullout of cut.

    I cut concrete too tomorrow I will be cutting 22in thick concrete what is your technique or tip on using big blades Cris jones

  • @chrisjones2364

    @chrisjones2364

    8 жыл бұрын

    To start I make sure the blades you use to step cut with are in good working order. No cracks at the segment base or the blade as a hole. Check to make sure you saw is in good working order. Now it depends on the machine you use and operator preference. I would start with a 14"-16" .220, this cuts to a 5" depth. Then I would jump to a 30"-36" .187, this cuts to a depth of 12". Now I would like to put on a 48" .165, but that would only cut around 21". If the concrete won't break (wire mesh at the bottom or even rebar not placed 2" to 3" up off the bottom) you will have to use one size bigger blade at least. Probably a 54". This will get you to 24" deep. Use plenty of water to remove spoils from the cut and keep the blade cooled. Always match your blade rpm to the saw or be sure change to the proper gear. Wear all proper PPE. Safety glasses, hearing protection, ect.
