Concluding thoughts on the Min Heejin Scandal

Ойын-сауық

I feel as though this Min Heejin scandal with Hybe has completely consumed all K-pop discourse. While I don't have much to say about the actual press conference and the legal battle, so now that it's over, I thought I'd discuss what I disliked that was happening within fan spaces. I feel that's the only domain I feel truly comfortable discussing.
00:031 Introduction
02:19 Danielle and Eunchae's scenario
04:07 Fans avoiding accountability
05:01 Nitpicking Idols' Behaviour
05:55 Defending Danielle/ Hybe's Petty Behaviour
07:53 Conclusion/ Ending remarks

You could’ve mentioned Bang Si-Hyuk, the real DA who decided to bring their internal disputes to the public and put all HYBE artists at risk of scandals and hatred… what a lose lose situation for HYBE

I really wanted to focus on Min Heejin, New Jeans, and Ador. There's a lot that I don't like about Hybe and Bang Si-Hyuk's practices but I feel like that would constitute a whole video focusing on him.

Have you watched MHJ 1st press conference?

Min Hee Jin should just have started her own company if she wants to own a girl group that bad. MHJ does not own ADOR or New Jeans. She is a HYBE employee. Her contribution is HYBE’s property.

Min Heejin is one of the most famous creative director Kpop has ever produced. Everybody know Teddy = Blackpink+2NE!. Min Hee jin = SNSD+ F(x)+ Shinee and most of SM group.

Teddy is a producer not a creative director. The creator director in charge of YG at the time (don’t know if they’re still active) was Sinxity. So different situation from Min Heejin’s case.

The whole situation is stupid anyway. They could have solved the issue privately, but Hybe decided to make it public and put on a big show. Min Hee-jin wouldn't have talked about it or dragged it out if Hybe hadn't publicly shitted on her. Now we have a ridiculous stan war with people picking sides because their favorite artist works with them. At the end of the day, those two selfish individuals only want power and control over their artists. They don't care about anyone else, and if you're choosing a side, you're just being used for their money.

Funny. I have never heard the harsh conflict before the press conference...now you all are accusing Hybe was the one who started publicly harrashing her.

may i ask why people love infantilizing newjeans members so much? each member (as we can see through their current content and previous) have positive and strong relations with their family. the girls aren't "backed into a corner" and don't support min heejin because there is no one else for them. EVERY ador staff has backed the GIRLS throughout this time. every idol or individual who have supported them publically this month have done so FOR THE GIRLS, not min heejin. most who signed that petition signed it because they have seen the relationship between mhj and newjeans. newjeans are not isolated from the industry. hell, i dont think they are isolated from hybe artists and employees either, only the higher ups. they are independent enough to know who's right and who's not. WE as fans no nothing about the behind the scenes and what pushed newjeans to fully support ador over hybe. i hate when kpop fans overanalyze newjeans and mhj's relationship to the point of saying that she grooms them. min heejin has recently stated that she often sources teachers from newjeans from external sources so that, after their contract ends, they are free to choose whichever path they like. the girls are also loved by multiple older female artists who the girls look up to and who can advice them. so let this "newjeans are groomed" narrative GO. their concept is very much age friendly. they are not isolated. they are more in danger of those middle aged billionare hybe executives than their ceo. in this recent case, not only min heejin, but newjeans and ador staff were targetted by HYBE and the prior won rightfully. so instead of focusing on hating the groups OR min heejin, focus all that on hybe executives.

I wouldn’t say I’m infantalizing more so sympathising with their current situation. I’m only three years older than minji and I would find this situation extremely difficult to navigate. Not only do they have no control over what happens with the company and their internal affairs, yet they are still being punished for it. That just isn’t fair.

These girls were just kinda groomed by min hee jin. Yeah its strong word for this situation, but i can't find any other one to describe how weird is being THAT close with these children, while being their ceo. No ceo should be this close with their workers, especially when they're minors. She shouldn't call them and cry about the situation in the company. Like they're literally teenagers?? Unfortunately, because of hybe adding fuel with ignoring them on multiple times, punishing because of mhjs behavior, the girls now think even more that nobody cares in this industry about them exept mhj, that she's the only one who can they trust.

it is so sexist to say that hybe is treating newjeans that way because of min heejin's behavior. The ONLY reason hybe doesn't treat newjeans well is because they are handled by a woman and their success cannot be attributed to bang pd. and newjeans are not groomed. their relationship with their ceo is very normal. they were crying because hybe was not only targetting min heejin, but ALSO newjeans. they literally told their parents that they would put newjeans on a 2 year hiatus to find a "grammy winner producer". they were also targetting the ador staff, who the newjeans members are close to. newjeans' IP and their career was at stake, why would they NOT cry??

@HelloWorld-ut4nz if you doesn't see anything wrong with your grown ass ceo calling 16 old girls and crying, then kpop brainwashed you really well. And pls, "sexist"? Girl be serious, people would treat mhj even worse if she was a man and close like that to newjeans. Her weird behavior is not taken seriously because she's a woman.

i dont think i would trust 20 years old who put stickers of my competition in my building. i get it, that industry is tough, but in what other job would 20 years old be protected as a "girl", no accountability, really? They do not understand whats going on? Normally, they say guys have advantages, in this case, if that would be 20yo guy, i bet people would not shout to protect the kids.

@letsgo1572 how were they isolated, when even bts made basically promotion for them on numerous occasions? I would prefer that to greeting of ceo. From what I see, they were treated pretty well. Obviously, I was not sitting in the corner in their office or something. Also, from where I stand, they are old enough to say what they want. If people for some mysterious reason think that they can't think as adults ( all but the 16yo), then ok , let parents decide. If after all this drama they still want stay with mhj, why not let them? You can't force people even to safety, if they don't want to go.
