430 is enough alpha. If you increase that you get more alpha than a 122mm gun

I think they were so traumatized by wheeled lights (rightfully so), that they went too far with holding back British wheeled mediums

I feel that generally, armour effectiveness should be inversely proportional to stealthiness. At least for Mediums. So if the UK wheelies are going to have paper armour, they should have had great camo.

I seem to remember when this line was first floated they were meant to be TDs. This suggests to me that camo and terrain resistances being buffed would give it a card to play.

In my opinion, it is not even big advantage to have wheels there .. because is so much easier to cripple this tank from flank (destroy one wheel) than to detrack other mediums (especially on longer range)

Give them hesh and camo. Then do slow tuning/buffs to dpm as it gets played more. I view changing too many variables at once as a recipe for not getting a good understanding of what really "worked" for a buff/nerf.

I really think that they at least could return that engine boost thing. Remember when wheel vehicles were introduced at first, not only they had 2 modes for driving but also, they could kinda "sprint" for a short distance after holding spacebar.

At last! I lived enough to see a very good video made by QB! Congrats, well made and deep thoughts + calculations.

I think they should actually buff the camo, then it could have a bit of a niche, but as it is now, the only good thing about it is that it looks pretty cool, was always a fan of the looks of wheeled tanks with big guns :D

@@SilentJaguarWut how does the british have weird tanks, they have zero special mechanics in their tree at all and the tanks are not special in terms of features. No extra track, double cannon, hydraulics, no sniper mode, no turbo mode, no autoloader of any type (only premiums), no special designs such as YOH turret or oscilating turret (only manti). The only thing the british have that is not normal is a HESH round.

​​@@pwntehnoobsthe British tank's do have special mechanics, they're just so old they're not the only ones with it anymore (hesh and spaced armor on turrets). Plus a lot of British tank's just look and/or play weird (fv4004 for example)

I really think they're taking a "release weak tank lines, buff later until they work" approach these days Which, honestly, isn't such a bad thing. That's a really good approach, if they actually do it Premium Tanks, on the opposite hand... Yeah... no one wants that

It is probably to silence people who say that WG is propagating endless power creep. It is like "we'll throw a mediocre line and be like 'see guys, powercreep isn't real'", and then we plan on something actually bonkers.

That is most certainly not a really good approach, it diminishes the excitement of new content going into the game, it doesn't have to be broken, it HAS to be fun. Unfortunately adding something that doesn't have anything new or anything special about it isn't exciting at all, and is bad for the game IMO

@@tytus3048 Call me weird, but I was not excited for any new line in many, many years, because WG tried to make them "exciting". Gimmick vehicles and gimmick lines. Ah yeas, what a reason to be excited to see more and more vehicles that make my favourite tanks obsolete and force me into painful grind all over again. Russian Autoloaders that work with reverse of logic and fire faster the more empty they get? Tanks with literal rocket boosters strapped to their arse? Multi-gun designs that failed to work IRL but somehow rule in the game?

Fun fact, if you put the turbo directive it will actually improve the travers Speed while stationary in the concept 5, I tried it and it worked, to my surprise

All these kind of hindrances to the Concept 5's potential can easily be brought over to the French wheeled Light Tanks, I reckon. Shame it'll never happen...

I’m glad they aren’t OP, like others, but yeah, they definitely need some improvements, like better turning, a bit better ground resistance, at least in med and soft. Some better camo, and HESH, I think just adding those would make it a lot better and at least more competitive, maybe lower the damage wheel penalty some too.

In case someone has a dedicated crew for the Cobra, that one fits quite well.

The balancing on the british wheelys is great. Have never played a tank with this gun handling unbelievable what it hits while driving. Only kink they could iron out is that the wheels feel slugish. Or it feels like playing with lag because of the breaks and steering mechanic

I'm actually glad someone noticed, thought I was going insane lol.

Well I only play this game for fun and entertainment purpose not for competitiveness. So if I try to get these I don't care about the stats. I like them for the looks.

my vote is on upping the camo. If they are going to give it any edge, that would be where I want to see it at.

My suggestion to make them competitive are top speed maybe 75, 10% cammo while moving and giving the tank a dpm of 2500

It's main advantage is its ability to fire and quickly reverse IMO. It does this faster than tracked vehicles.

As they are right now I dont see myself taking the time to grind through the line worth it.

Ive played this thing and it plays good. IRM, Optics, Rammer for most if not all games.

Just noticed your title says Peview instead of Preview. Great video as always.

Give it better ground resistance and better camouflage - that could make it way more fun. Or a pump up the dmg per shot

I feel like based off your observations with the tank WG was better off making them Wheeled Tank Destroyers instead of wheeled medium tanks because you basically play it like a STRV103B

if they gave it hesh rounds it would have been interesting, also a slight camo buff would help, i had momments when i got spotted in some akward moments.

ironically these tanks remind me of the British/SADF wheeled vehicles in War Blunder. they're big and hard to hide, and have no armour. but at least they tend to have huge guns

I think if they gave this tank 490 alpha I think it would be very fun to play, just driving around and deliver a lot of damege one by one

in it's current state the Concept 5 is just a damage pinata more then a maus because at least it has armor going for it

I feel this needs just a Camo and DPM buff along with a terrain resistance (to closer to the Leopard's) and wheel turning buff by a few more degrees up to say, 10 degrees.

I'd say it should get 110mm pen and 520 alpha for the HE round as well.

give it some hesh rounds, which will kinda turn them into derp t49. hardly meta, but you could play it as a once in a while novelty fun, scoot and derp line.

I think giving it like 460-470 alpha would help make it interesting but not broken over powered. Since it’s dpm would still be bad for t10 meds.

Nice to see them attach a tank to that gun.

would be cool to see the south African wheeled tanks added at some point.

Feels like most of the player base on the NA server will snipe with these. A lot. I expect them to be popular with that gun handling.

I am thinking I am going to brush off the old Black Dog for the next few weeks.

Excellent video, I played with it and really, it has no spice. really they could be more fun to play or have something really unique. I'm sure I'm not going to go after them at launch, maybe at an event where they're top of the tree. And to think it would be so simple to make them Unique... Example: two modes, defined by the speed of your tank Similar to the pneumatic suspensions, where at low speed the vehicle behaves exactly the same as in the test server, and at high speed they behave like the French vehicles with the wheel angle and dispersion increased by 50 % or 100%. a little more, maybe 10 or 20% less penalty with destroyed wheels. That would be cool and unique. But that's my opinion and they have theirs.

Hey QB, I need help with the obj 257. The accuracy of this tank is non-existent. My shells have not hit where I have aimed and are bouncing or completely missing altogether for most games played in this tank. What do I need to do to make this tank work accuracy wise??

What if these tanks had "Super quiet engines" and the proxy ring became the acoustic hearing range such that these tanks would not be spotted but could spot within the proxy circle. This could be applied to the french wheelies enabling them to be nerfed and yet made more interesting

@@skorpion7132 If that's what you think, then I doubt that you're any good in light tanks. It would also make them good in city maps where they could spot (hear and identify) tracked veihicles on the other side of buildings without being spotted themselves.

Giving the tier X another gun option, maybe a 120mm, might make the tech line at least worth a grind. Also, hadn’t they nerf the HE shells, we wouldn’t have such an wheels issue now would we?

Given the size of this thing, it seems pretty astonishing that it doesn't have a 4th crewman as a dedicated loader. What's taking up all the space in this giant turret? Certainly not thick armor.

In all honesty this video reinvirgorated how toxic that bushkemp Leo is.

If they keep all the stats the same, but they can buff "ONE" characteristic it should give it British HESH pen(bc it would in line with other british tanks) and buff the DPM to ~3000 the be in line with the british tech tree characteristic of having awesome DPM. The point is that WG shouldn't overbuff it in the next iteration of the test server to the point that its OP, but give it "ONE" thing that very strong so it stands out a bit more.

I think dis tank turret can bounce if yu angle it like maus turret cuz its always happen frequently

I think that what really neads work is tier 1 - 3, they should make them ww1 themed and way cooler and make you spend way more time in there with like ww1 tanks and towed anit tank guns

think this tank will rock if they add: +30-35% camo, -2.0-3.0 gun dispersion, +10-20% engine power(maybe), still not op, but fun sneaky flank/distance tank.

I agree I think they were afraid of the reaction based on the EBR introduction and went way below subpar w/ this. IDK why it doesn't have HESH - a unique specialty of high tier UK tanks. IDK why it's camo is so bad (it's tall so yeah it shouldn't be OP but it's wildly undercamo'd).It doesn't have an autoloader/auto-reloader so why is the DPM so bad? I'll play the tank line cause I eventually will want to work up this tree but I'm not really looking forward to it.

i find it odd that it seems so slow compared to some other tanks and that the dmg is so low, i hope they buff it alittle bit atleast.

I think WG shouldn’t need to worry about every line looking different, it’s fine having clones between tech trees. The AMX30B was originally a leopard clone, then WG had to try to make it different and now it’s not even a tech tree tank anymore. But that’s my opinion

British Concept No.5: *Exist Japanese Type 16: Hello there!

Wheeled vehicles with big 90 and 105 guns are considered Tank Destroyers in the present world. Having said that then WG has done this line the right way. This will play like support snipers I guess and thats as it should be

I think The Concept 5 is related to the Concept 3 that's in War Thunder

unfortunately im done with all tech tree tanks so i have nothing left to do besides crew skill grind so ill get it and permanetly park it in the garage like most of the tier 10's

I think if this vehicle had more power/weight ratio, every other stats will be ok

This thing is meant to be on edge of render distance and shell down on enemies. It's fastest tank to do so with long range gun. It's 1 trick pony.

At least they are not the Disaster that was the French wheeled line

I think HESH is simple and unique characteristic this branch (and premium one) can have.

I think these tank's should have hesh and premium hesh. They'd be a lot more unique then just a worse leopard

i want to like this tank, but it needs more alpha damage or better reload time. Give it the same reload as leo or 490 alpha. As it is right now its just a worse leopard, and why would i want that when i can just play the Leo insted of this. This tank has so much potential for the people who like this type of playstyle, but it needs a buff WG!

Nice use of the auto scroll up at 10 minutes. I think I'll stop this line at the Saladin (with a QB commander). Most of it looks mediocre at best.

The side pods of the vehicles should count as space armour rather than being modelled as the tanks hull.

They really need to significantly buff the camo, slightly buff the mobility and give them HESH rounds. Even then the tier 10 would be balanced and barely worth the grind. As it stands no way is it worth it if you have a leopard 1

honestly, it almost feels like these should have been td's up the alpha or dpm, and camo, and then they would be great, like it feels like even the description of the vehicle as a sniper tank would make it better as a td and honestly it feels like that's going to be its purpose. or I mean if you just like the sound of a medium rather than a td cause I suppose there are already lots of british td's just make it interesting, make it competitive. like the issue is this tank is going to be taking up a spot on your team where a different medium could have been and this tank functions as basically a shit td, or just a worst leopard so whatever team this is going to be on is going to be at a distinct disadvantage. sad to see wg just not understanding how there game works on any level and just hoping that more tanks means more good

I'm going to grind this line BECAUSE it isn't broken

It seems like a sniper, switches flanks and snipe over there. It should go faster than a cs63. I dont see any yoh tanks, and i see some bz's but not that many. Maybe another line that can collect dust in the garage. Next wheeled heavy tanks leggo, going 70 kph smacking 500s calling it.

Im slightly conflicted. Trying to compare it to a leo but you dont take super forward and aggro positions. Also i think while it is a sniper, i think id look at it as more of a reinforcement tank. Being able to get around to a flank that need help or being able to get to positions to turret break stuck in tanks

I think buffing the horsepower would be enough, make it good at peakaboo Buff the alpha a bit And to make it interesting, maybe when it stays stationary for a period of time, the gun gets even more accurate? Idk, just spitballing

its sort of a really mobile tank destroyer... relocating all the time to avoid return fire.

I think QB is right. It needs somthing special. Since the gun is good, give it 10-20% more alpha damage and give an option for an alternative derp gun that is fun. I think this will be a massive improvement.

Or just increase its camo and increase its he pen and maybe a tiny bit better rate of fire maybe 0.2 seconds faster the mobillity... idk man its just a medium tank at this point, or drop the reload improvement and make it faster.

Ye ye might as well give him 380 pen still would perform the same, only way to make it remotely competitive is to give him FV4005s gun but keep the accuracy, maybe a little less pen, balanced it with a bit cheaper ammo but still not that cheap to be considered poor man’s tank. Would be a meta for a 4-5 years but at least would change this money drainage game a little, I still spend around 100e a month on WoT and still feel left out, should I spend more ? Insanity

i would give this tank another gun ye a derp with 650 dmg and like 2 sec aim time with like 240 pen or so just to have something extra.. atm its just meh boring

Fair criticisms all around, great review QB! I think the concept could benefit from actually good mobility (maybe 72 top speed and much better HP/t so it can actually reach and hold those speeds) to make the trade-offs worth it, though your proposal of higher alpha also sounds interesting.

0 skill to help you get a skill for free effectively, I.e. High pressure positions where a crew performs multiple roles!

So it turns like track tanks and slower than most mt, not really faster than other mt, not really has more view range nor camo than other mt. The only benefit it has is still being able to drive when its wheels are taken out, which makes it just a mt version of the yoh line. An you know how special the yoh line is :v
