He's almost several genres in one performer. The departure from the sound of 'Harvest' to lets say 'Psychedelic Pill' is pretty huge, I freaking Love both Albums even though they're very different.
Damn that was what? Almost 35 years ago... I swear I can still feel the goosebumps I got watching that air live.... Hands down best solo performance, no studio magic, just raw talent using old school tech
" never get to fall in love, never get to be cool" love that line
Neil is the greatest songwriter of our time, period.❤
I am a Winnipegger and Neil is definately a Manitoba treasure. It is damn cold here and anyone who makes it out alive deserves a bloody medal. Loved this interview and all the music suggested.

That SNL performance!! Man! Watching that powers me for days!!!
I'm glad I ran across this clip. It's interesting that Conan asks about that specific performance, and I love Neil's response, because that was definitely one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen on TV!
Neil Young ... never gets old!
Conan admires ...worships? Neil as many of us do. A legendary performer more than most Rock star, balladeer, country artist extraordinaire. Total Awe and Respect for Neil always he brings it
Class guy. Absolutely a legend
Conan was lucky to get him for the interview. And it’s a good one no pretense, transparent. Good interview with Neil for sure
Neil young has such a gigantic catalog and tons not released. And he still puts out new stuff always stays relevant. That amazes me. And he's my favorite guitar player too

Neil Young Top 7 all time Rock N Roller.
I worked at NBC Program Standards back then (I was also in my 20's) and also watched Neil Young play "Rockin in the Free World" at Thursday rehearsals during my lunch break. I mean --- it was awesome. And yes - I used to see Conan around SNL and NBC and my UWS neighborhood before he got all famous and stuff.

My middle child once asked me, 'what's your favorite Neil Young song?' And I replied, which Neil Young? The acoustic guy? The rock and roller? The mystic? The guy with Crosby Stills, and Nash? Who toured with Booker T & the MGs? Or with Willie Nelson? Or with Pearl Jam? The rockabilly guy? The big band leader? The guy who recorded Trans? Techno before he was techno?
Thank you so much for putting the song list in the podcast description. It was so great to be able to find the song and listen and go back to the interview. Thanks for the extra effort.
How sweet that he put his Dad on the cover of his new album!
Ah, the music equipment I’ve bought for my musician son! But probably he won’t be big like Neil, but I’m so proud of him. 🎶
Hitch hiking with a friend got a ride from Neils dad Scott to Sutton Ontario.
My mom signed the loan for my amp back in 1979, a Fender Super Reverb with D110 JBLs. Still have both🤘
i smashed like for his hoodie
Neil is “it”
Wow! 2 people I love dearly
🔥🔥
I was homeless in the Yellowstone/Teton area for a couple of months. I ended up camping with some buskers from Newport, OR. Apparently they met Neil Young on the road but had no idea who he was until he left and someone told them.
Love you Conan.
i like phkn up... the song :)
I think his first amp was a 64 ampeg echo twin et2. The sound out of that amp is incredible
Its funny about Canada,....when I was growing up, (1950s through the 1970s) and was a kid, we only knew it was a place where we could buy fireworks. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where they were outlawed. Cleveland is just across Lake Erie, from Canada and we used to take a ferry there, that we could drive our car into. In high school I was into Neil Young's music, and I had a Canadian flag patch on my favorite jacket.

glad neil seems to have fully recovered from the stroke he had a few years ago(?)
The terrible thing in life is 30 years ago, I had no idea Neil was the coolest human being around. Wasted 20 years with that ignorance.
Please establish a Neil Young Center
Yeah that's definitely the best musical portion of Saturday night live that has ever been produced. I've even got a copy of that digitally on my phone so I can listen to it anytime.

Hey I was listening to this on Sirius and they didn’t play the music?? What the heck:/

You know, at first, I thought Neil Young’s name was kind of weird. I like his music and all that then I thought about when I used to make glass paper weights and lensed orbs when I was younger and how I just pray that the next step will turn out OK and I wouldnt end up destroying an entire day or more’s work with a late experiment and the name comes off, pretty clean in my opinion. Still on the fence about the band names glass animals and Coldplay. Kind of cringe right now but I bet I change my mind.
This guy is a grub.

@You're Wrong Many veterans spit on currently enlisted personnel. They've had the rug pulled from beneath their feet in more ways than one. Ottawa saw many vets standing against this horse $#!+...lockdown...mask up...lose your career BS. If I could post a video example I would. But of course cowardly YT won't allow this truthful interaction of a vet shouting down a CBC reporter at the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier. It was glorious🔥
Was never a fan but man his speaking voice vs that whiney nasally singing voice. ???? What gives?
Lumberjack much Conan? ....Wack-a-doo shirt jack! Sorry bro, I can't concentrate, your shirt is distracting me.
Conan please never reply "mm=hmm" to a guest while you are mid sip with your lips still in a glass of water...it makes a weird sound. Thank you.
