Such a loyal friend... Unless your name is Norm Macdonald. Then your useless-ass ex-wife can whine about it and blacklist him from the show. Then she can then deny it and have morons believing her.

The crowd booing falls under anger. The second of five stages of dealing with grief. They were in the denial stage up until Steve asked for the ID.

It's really ironic that after only one year from that interview, NBC would also fire Steve Carell and don't re-new his contract for The Office.

@x123 he was the reason office remained popular till the 7th season. And we know how the later seasons were.

@@varuntulsyan2558 that's the press version, but what happened was actually a bit more complicated. Steve actually wanted to continue with the office. However his contract was only specified till season 7. So during some interview he talked about how season 7 might he his last, and even expressed desire to stay on the show and not leave. However, the network execs at NBC made no comment on his news about season 7 potentially being his last. Moreover, they didn't extend a contract to Steve for the later seasons before the deadline. And so he had no other choice but to leave. Because of that and some more miscommunication, Steve felt hurt and decided to leave the show. He hasn't really starred in THAT many movies since the office, and even now he's the lead on space force, which is again an office-esque show. So yeah tldr, some horrible miscommunication and misunderstandings are what led to Steve leaving the office. NBC is a shit network

I had not watched one episode of the Office when I saw this. In hindsight, it still burns me as a Conan fan. As a person eho sae Canans openness since the 1990s, it hurt to see him hurt. This was when late night tv meant something.
