I think this is the first time I've heard of this group. Around this time in my life I was basically listening to top 40 radio or what my parents were listening to. I also checked on the song Love Train, and it might not be the one you are thinking of. You might be thinking of the O'Jays song with the same title, which I did hear on the radio. This song also reminded me of another song, which I can't think of the title or the artist. I also was reminded of Heatwave's "Always and Forever", which you probably have heard. If not, you should.

Great point about the lack of music education now. In Japan it’s required and that’s why we see so many Japanese prodigies making great music.

High and High school had plenty of students who sang, and played in bands. No not the school band, we formed our own bands after school. Practice practice practice. Battle of the bands everyone was tight in his/her craft. a lot of talent came out of young kids back then. And I gave up playing to go to collage to become a engineer

They don’t make music like this anymore because now you don’t even need live human beings to make music, AI can do it for you. I agree. I recently read an article in "Variety" about various artists (I tried to post it here, but it has disappeared) supporting Mollie Marriot trying to block a recording company from releasing songs by her father Steve using AI generated recordings Many other artists have joined her in the fight including Steve's surviving bandmates, Peter Frampton, Jerry Shirley & Kenney Jones, along with Robert Plant, David Gilmore, Paul Rogers, Paul Weller, Bryan Adams, Glen Hughes and many others who are very concerned that if they can do it to Steve, who is next? I agree with them that this is disgusting - not for art sake, just money.

Got To Be Enough was the jam! They had the great dance tracks and the slow jams! This band could do it all! Lead by Felton Pilate and Michael Cooper. Cooper wrote Loves Train while involved in a love triangle with his girlfriend cheating on him with his songwriting partner Pilate! A big hit off some cold business!
