    You read the first couple of words with keywords and the answer is easy to guess. As long as you know the meaning of the vocabularies, everything else is a piece of cake.

    @@mbreed8960 It's not a dumb question, it's checking your common sense. The correct answer is on the test and it's Plug the phone into a charger. What is the FIRST step you would take if someone came to you with this issue? If you think anyone of those answers given in the video are correct, IT is not for you. There are several channels on youtube and the net giving out wrong answers. Even one of the most trusted CompTIA A+ Exam question site had an answer wrong and I contacted them about it and they fixed it. You will get into the wrong answers most of the time is on the PBQ's. Some say they do it to keep CompTIA off their backs. I've taken the tests and on 220-1101, I got 5 of them, 4 were actually just like what has been on youtube or websites and 1 question, nobody anywhere ever had shown anything like it.

    I’ve been studying since Jan. Planning to buy the test in April and hopefully pass. I’ve watched all of messers videos on 1101 and took Dion’s practice tests literally dozens of times and along with this I’ve studied pbqs and took examcompass. I hear 1101 is much harder than 1102 so I’m tryna get it right the first time since it’s an expensive test

    I agree with the wording of the question is disingenious. The question never mentioned anything about the internet. It just said network to which switches also transfers packets across. I would argue about this one too.

    Question 8 is pretty dumb for a couple reasons. First, a devices manual wont give you any information about disassembling a device. Second, for most cellphones and tablets magnetic drivers are perfectly safe and widely used in the repair industry. A better answer would be "making contact with the motherboard with a magnetic driver"

    Question #9 makes absolutely no sense. Depending on the cost of video cards, installing a new one is not always cost-effective, especially when the DVI is faulty, the next best possible solution should be, "D. Try using an adapter". Also. what if we're working with an ITX or even with micro-ATX with the rest of the PCIE slots full???

  • @robinmeade7573

    @robinmeade7573

    You are completely wrong. They're talking about BUILT-IN DVI connector as in it's soldered onto the motherboard. Adapter won't do squat for you as the DVI connector itself is damaged! Bypassing the DVI connector with cheap video card is the best option. You can buy ANY PCIe Video card to regain functionality. Finding same model of motherboard and replacing all the components on it would be so tedious if you are even able to find same motherboard after prolonged use of your current system. Video card on the other hand doesn't matter brand or generation as long as it's the correct video slot.

    If the DVI port is faulty, and if it's the only integrated video output, then using an adapter would achieve nothing, though it is still probably a good step to take before purchasing and installing a graphics card, since you don't know if the system is even capable of powering it. Even lower power cards like the xx50 series Nvidia cards can overload a cheap PSU if the machine wasn't designed around the extra wattage. A lot of these scenarios also assume a lot of things. If this machine came into a repair shop I was running, a very honest conversation would be had around whether the customer was ready to upgrade to a new machine. I would mostly agree with the solution given as the FIRST real step that would fix the problem, because it would still be cheaper and faster than a full MOBO swap out, assuming the DVI port IS actually dead and there are no other video outs.

  • @Djmiddlekauff

    I think based on the wording its not a high end system. In that case a basic video card would require far less work and would cost less than finding the same exact board.

    Q1 why wouldn't it be ping? Wouldn't that be the simplest solution to check whether employee knows what he/she is talking about? Why start digging under the table looking for Ethernet cable? Also this question doesn't specify if we are talking about laptop or desktop. If the user has a laptop with a possible WiFi connection, that would be even more illogical to be looking for Ethernet cable.

    well to be frank, try pinging your router when you're not even connected to it. If there's no IP address to ping and you're not even connected to a LAN that option doesn't work. Nor would IPconfig as you won't even be connected to the gateway. That implies there's a hardware issue somewhere and it likely isn't the router
