hi, how do you find compound interest being compounded monthly.
for questions like at 18:40 is it okay to have a near answer like 2.3% or 2.5%? will it still be given a mark?
Nice intro
is there a way you could link the powerpoint in the description so that we can download it and save time writing out the questions?
Hey could you please kindly do a video on repeated percentage change as i dont get how to do it please .Thank u...
@TheGCSEMathsTutor

If you check out the 3 videos in the percentages playlist these are all the fundamentals behind repeated percentage change, even this in itself is a repeated percentage change. The only thing different to these is maybe increasing and then decreasing by a percentage!! I will make a video on this very soon though 😁🙏🏼
So when asked a quetion that asks how much interest or how much they had it is still the small working out
Thank you very much , it’s very informative. For GCSE on the formulae sheet it says: Total accrued = P(1+ r/100)n Do we not need to use this? Thanks! :)

Could you please make a video teaching every GCSE Grade 8-9 Topic, GCSE Grade 6-7 Topic, etc.??
@TheGCSEMathsTutor
4 жыл бұрын
No Sir unfortunately this is near impossible to do, one topic can stretch from grade 5-9 depending on the complexity and variety of topics involved, this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oW2K17yhc9S4Yrg.html covers all the topics from grade 6-9 but to categorise them into one grade would be misleading as we can’t really classify some of them as being a ‘grade 7’ or ‘grade 8’ question, they are merely a collective that fall within a spectrum, we can certainly classify a ‘grade 8-9’ topic or style of question and I have done a grade 8-9 playlist to help with this! 😁🙏🏼
do this principal x rate divide 100 add to principal do again with new principal for each year

Hi I was wondering when the higher only content starts in the video?
At 3:14 approx can you do 4000 multiplied by 0.024 and then add the answer to the original amount or do you have to do 4000 multiplied by 1.024 and just get that answer? I was confused because both ways you get the correct answer

@TheGCSEMathsTutor
2 жыл бұрын
I use a formula in all of these, I just don’t write out a formula as it takes away from the understanding, but you can use a formula if it’s something that you prefer 😁🙏🏼
At 7:29 wouldn’t Alice’s interest earned be £90.81? The answer you have written is her new amount.
When you’re calculating the interest only just don’t add the 1 ie .028

It is indeed! This video should be super helpful I made it specifically for this question: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYCl2Kh9l8e1e6w.html 😁🙏🏼
19:51 why are you timeing it by 1.025 ?
taught us everything but how to do investments if it’s only like 1.8% or smth
Wait I don’t understand the 8000 X x^3= 8589.93 can somone explain to me because its not working on my calculator
on the second question wouldnt you minus answer by 2500??????
Here's another way of working out questions like at 14:37 (when working out the value of x%). You make a formula like this 8000 × ((100 + x) /100)^3 = 8589.93 That bracket part in the middle is to work out your multiplier, and the x is the actual percentage. Then you rearrange (divide by the investment). ((100 + x)/100)^3 = 1.07374..... Then cube root both sides. (100 + x) / 100 = 1.02399.... Then times by 100 100 + x = 102.399... Then subtract 100 from both sides. x = 2.399 which rounds to 2.4. So x = 2.4% Hope this helped, I find it an easier way. But use whatever you prefer 🙂
