Composition. Talking about my mistake. A lesson in photography.

I wasted a week of my life and all I got was a tough lesson to learn... I had a great time in Moab, but this picture is a reminder, a visual reminder of how important 2 inches can be.

I love both of these images. The Mesa Arches one is stunning. Nice video. I also agree, print your pictures 🙂

We usually go with one thing in mind and close our self from other opportunities, keep lookin for the right shot and you will find it! Good luck and thanks for watching!

I understand your obsession, having photographed both location with some success, quite by chance. And yes, it was difficult to find a spot to put your tripod at Mesa Arch, there were so many photographers even in October. Being from Quebec, I knew I would not be back for some time, so I'm happy with what I got.

Awesome! I don’t get to Utah as often as I like, it’s an amazing place! I’d love to visit Canada, I’ve seen some beautiful images both city and nature!

😊 day three brings back memories! My first time ever to Archs and made that climb with a photog friend. When setting up this other photographer comes climbing (really he was running) and sets up with us. He had the most amazing eyes, smile and energy. Sometimes you meet the coolest people in amazing places. 😉

Thanks Debbie! Arches is a beautiful place, my memory of that day is a bit different than yours 😅 (photography related), but yes you are correct! We meet great people in the most amazing places!

If I could afford it, I'd print on Cibachrome. I have some of my photo's hanging from my walls.

The image is nice without the separation. If you feel it needs more how about a little dodging and burning. Okay, lightening and darkening the two different rocks. Not much, but to add some separation. It's not cheating in this case. As Ansel Adams was quoted as saying.. "the negative is the score, and the print is the performance". Of course in your case the Raw file is the negative. 😃

Thank you! I do like the image, but I know it could have been just a little better, which is good, improvement is always good and I am my worst critic for that reason. I’ll try a bit of burning to see if I can darker the shadow on the front rock a bit more! Thanks again!
