Composite Failure Simulation using ABAQUS CAE with Element Deletion - ABAQUS Tutorial

This video provides the following in regards to performing composite failure simulations in ABAQUS CAE:
- How to setup composite layup in ABAQUS CAE
- Defining material properties for fibre reinforced composites
- Assigning loading and boundary conditions
- Possible reasons why elements are not deleted during composite failure simulations

First ply failure in a laminate can be calculated by using the Tsai hill failure index from Abaqus. But, if we want to calculate the ultimate ply failure load i.e last ply failure load, how to identify using abaqus?@@Professor3MEC

I think in one of my videos on composites in my channel I have shown how to look for it for various plies. Please search if possible. I can't recall at the moment. May be getting old now. :)

Hello sir, nice work. I have a few questions. I have seen people use max. degradation as 0.99 as a flag for element deletion in past literature. They generally used continuum shell for composite modeler. Can you send the cae or input file at rachits.ce.19@nitj.ac.in, so that i can play around with it.
