#Dividos #doubleshot #rocktrio #argentina #React #DeanWolfe
In this video Canadian Guitarist/producer Dean Wolfe reacts to Divididos.
My LATIN AMERICA Rock/Prog Reacts incl. Argentina, Chile etc.:
• LATIN AMERICA Rock/Pro...
A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

Try the band "La maquina de hacer pajaros" (The bird making machine), the song "Ah, te vi entre las luces (Ah, I saw you between the lights) is very good. Argentinian Progressive rock from 1976. Charly Garcia leader, national genious hero. Another CG's band, Seru Giran 1978-1982, Eiti Leda or Las Grasas de las capitales are excellent. If you try Charly Garcia or Spinnetta you will discover a new world. Be careful.

We Argentineans love to see people from other countries react to our (pretty vast) pool of pop/rock music, so I'm pretty sure you'll find a loyal following base if you react once in a while to some of our music. In the 70's and 80's we had some pretty cool prog rock stuff too that you may (or may not) enjoy, like: Band: La Máquina de hacer pájaros - Song: Hipercandombe Band: Seru Giran - Song: La Grasa de las Capitales Artist: Luis Albert Spinetta - Song: Cantata de los puentes amarillos (almost acoustic weird and beautiful prog-rock ballad)

Hi, nice reaction; you have a real starting point here: You'll find some (a few, being honest) good bands in other latin american countries but... Argentina owns rock'n roll, Argentina is rock'n roll. Among other genres in which Argentina is top quality; argentinean rock is "world class" quality as well. You just trespassed the gates of a wonderful kingdom, welcome to Argentina!!

Divididos means "divided", and the name comes because they were part (bassist and guitarist) of a huge band called "Sumo". After the early death of lead singer Luca Prodan, they all split up and formed two diferent bands: "Divididos" and "Las pelotas". Here are some more songs of Divididos to listen: "El 38", "Spaghetti del Rock", "Que ves", "Guanuqueando" and many many more. There's a TV show called "Encuentro en el estudio" in which the guest performs various songs in a mithical recording studio. All the versions there are very good, and they sound both like live and studio sessions. If you like them, you can try Sumo also, but the sound is a little more punk/reagge than this.

Hey there. Back in the 80's there was this argentine trio called "GIT" ((originally, GIT, to resemble the English Word "Hit") a rock and new wave band from Buenos Aires, emerged in the early 1980s, composed of Pablo Guyot (guitars and vocals), Willy Iturri (drums and vocals) and Alfredo Toth (bass and vocals). They were kind of the argentine The Police version Some of the disctintive songs were "La calle es su lugar" "Es por amor" "Siempre fuiste mi amor" Dunno, your call Vamos Argentina !!! Cheers

You've said the magic words "progressive trios" so you NEED to hear the argentinian band Invisible which is exactly that, it's a 70's rock band formed by our greatest musician Luis Alberto Spinetta that mixed his own influences with some deep purple/sabbath/cream to top it off. Gotta remember there was no internet at the time so the boys where really inspired. Check their first album, from 1974, of a perfect discography (IMO) won't be disappointed I assure you Dean, best regards!

Everyone in Seru Giran is a super star player, but just to relate one of them to something that you know, Pedro Aznar with 18 YO played the bass without frets, like Jaco Partorius. After the band break up He went to play with the Pat Metheny's band.

On the wall there is a sign that says "Alta Gracia - Córdoba". Alta Gracia is a town in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, known for the fact that Ernesto "Che" Guevara grew up and lived there for a long time.
