I love how it's hard to tell if he genuinely doesn't know how revered he is, or if he's just being humble about being a cornerstone of one of the biggest sci fi franchises of all time. 😄

The music at the end of the first Terminator with the storm coming in. Talk about mood, talk about atmosphere. That’s as good as any moment in cinema history.

When I was 15, I watched T2 first and I didn't give a damn about the main theme. Then, one night, while the whole family was asleep, I started watching T1 on VHS in middle of the dark. After the prologue had faded out, followed with the 5 "mechanical heart beats", the main melody came in like a soft breeze tickling my two young ears ! I was enchanted by the moment, immersed into a trance with a huge WTF moment on my face LoL. It was magical and I wish I could relive that moment again. Thus, my love for the sound of the synthesizer after that inauguration. Thanks Brad for that memory.😍🤩😍🤩

People salivate over Brad's work on Terminator but I hardly ever see anyone mention his superb work on Fright Night. He even sang on a track. Dude is an absolute legend. Check out "Come to Me".

I missed his music in T3 SOOO MUCH! And magic suddenly was there when I incorporated T1 and T2 scores into a couple of T3 clips. He was 50 % of the success of those films.

Brad Fiedel, what a character! And what a composer! I can tell you this Mr Fiedel if you ever were to read this: That I'm so thankful for your re-release of the Terminator soundtrack. It has been the main inspiration for me starting to work with synths and I couldn't thank you enough for it! :)

Writers/Directors are the 'fathers' of a movie composers are the 'mothers' they create the heart & soul of a film and Brad Fiedel created an emblematic and legendary soundtrack for the Terminator Saga We thank him beyond time for that

T2:3-D was a really staggering experience, and I saw it as often as I could while I lived in Orlando. It was the first time I saw 70mm, and the 3-D 70mm was one of the most immersive experiences you could imagine.

He doesn't get enough credit for T-1000's theme aswell. I actually think his un involvement in the terminator series after 2 is part of the reason why the series went down the pan imo

I've listened to the Terminator and T2 soundtracks many, many times (including tracks taken directly from the movies but not included in the official soundtracks), love them. Nice to see an interview with the composer, and great stories about T2-3D, looks like the team were playing with a lot of new experimental and fun toys :)

I find it so cool to actually hear composers talk; they're such an under-appreciated part of the mechanism that makes a film work. Bad music can make a film so much worse than it would otherwise be if everything else worked properly. At the very least, it makes you wonder what could've been if a more fitting composer, or, frankly, a better composer had been picked. (This is why we need to bring the concept of giving new scores to silent films, and expand it to, well, all movies. But I digress!) Now I can't help but wonder, was the music for the ride ever released? If not, that needs to change. Put it on an EP or something; friggin' Bandcamp, I dunno - just get it out there! Also I love his blue glasses. Very charming!

The score from The Terminator is tied with the Vince DiCola's score for Rocky 4 as my favorite soundtrack-score of all time. Even T2's score doesn't compare for me. It's great hearing Brad talk about all this stuff. I just hate that when The terminator FINALLY got a full score release, it's still missing certain elements that are only heard in the ORIGINAL MONO audio version of the movie. We still don't have the TRUE version of the "escape from the police station" cue where it's heard exactly as it is in the film. Nor the proper film version ending of the truck chase when the pipe bomb explodes (even the in the movie itself, the version in the 5.1 mix sounds different than the original mono version). That's ok though, fans who are musicians pick up the ball and do it instead (if you're a fan of the soundtrack, you can find them here on youtube).

Film, TV, and game scores are where the real musical composition magic happens in the world today in my opinion. All these popular musicians making “popular” music are dime a dozen in comparison. Thank goodness our niche is growing and getting recognized.
