The weapon sprites are not borrowed from brutal doom. Those sprites are free to use and are likely made by Doom Nukem, who made the sprites for Trailblazer.

Also that first BFG looks to be a modified version of the SKAG 1337 (Super Kick-Ass Gun) from Freedoom, a pair of Free Culture games for the now GPL Doom engine.

The issue with randomizers ive tried is that the amount of weapons makes it difficult to switch to the weapon you want quickly. Like you have to press "4" 4 times to get to your preferred weapon.

OR you can be smart and press 3 which pulls out the last weapon of the shotgun slot then scroll 1 or 2 weapons higher, it's a great tactic I found out myself.

That third BGF firing style, the one with the beams that zap enemies who are close enough, was actually in Quake 2 before DOOM 2016. Still remember using it for the first time back in the day. Loved it.

I really enjoy this mod, and the LCA mods add even more verity, but it is at the cost of really skewing the difficulty to sometimes rediculous proportions. this is really apparent in the LCA mod where you have overpowered enemies everywhere, and they thoroughly mop the floor with you because you still have a pea-shooter.

an extreme variation of this mod is one called Clusterfuck. It bundles together all Complex Doom content mods into a massive amalgam containig hundreds of enemy and weapon variants. The legendary monsters being the core point of that mod.

the most recent release of this is really starting to come together, this has to be my favorite mod and i dont even know why

Any Hexa fans saying "where've ya been, Icarus?!" I think if there is one thing I like about this over BRUTAL DOOM is that the zombies in BD are _way_ too accurate, especially when far away.

SPOILERS: Autoshotty drops from Cyber Knight, a Hell Knight variant. Railgun drops from Cybruiser, a Baron of Hell variant. Grenade launcher drops from Cyberdemons. BFG 10 000 drops from Dark Cyberdemons. Demontech BFG drops from Cerebral Sentient or Cardinal (Mastermind and Cyberdemon variants respectively) Variants of certain enemies e.g. Archvile drop better inventory items.

If I'm not mistaken, the auto shotty might drop from autoshotgun guys. Same as the quad shotgun drops from quadbarrel guys.

Yup, this mod is still playable even today online in Zandronum. Especially in Survival Mode with UV on, start saying your prayers. :P

0:29 "INTRIGUINGLY..."

Most of the sprites in this mod come from years old open source/use with permission sprite packs, the quad-shotgun feels like it's been around for a decade. That being said, this does seem kind of lacking in a distinct identity since all the weapons/enemies feel like deja vu at this point. The dev is still updating so here's hoping they'll polish this some more. Also, is there really no progression system in this mod? Project Brutaltiy had TWO systems for this.

Updates including better Grenades & Mines, more weapon upgrades keeping everything balanced especially the single barrelled shotguns & rocket launcher, new & redesigned monsters including 1 from Doom Eternal (which is an absolute b****** to deal with 😂), better performance & control configuration (I use an XBox 360 controller, my right hand is unsteady so using the mouse is a problem & the options to hot key everything has been improved greatly) Playing through Doom 2 Maps of Chaos Overkill & even with a full (as I can get, there's a 3rd BFG that still is only given via cheating or VERY rarely dropped by a very rare boss) & now onto Gotcha! (Oh joy 🤯😵😂) & while it started a bit unbalanced for about 3 levels it quickly smoothed over into a very intense challenge.

Complex doom is like PB but without the gore and many other features.

This wad is gold. Even the creator of the wad (Daedalus) plays often on the servers. It's been a while since i played on doomseeker now but i saw him plenty of times on the servers back then.

Not that i know of, it's been a while but the last time i read a discussion between him and the in game group he said he had no plans on any more weapons. Yes the monsters are difficult but from what i can tell it seems as the legendary weapons works poor against them, the freeze gun(forgot the name) and the Green demon gun works well, especially once you've collected a rune which speeds up the attack speed and reload speed. The Legendary cardinal is broken though, and the fact that he transforms is bad-ass but Bs at the same time.

zippo71111 aw that's kinda sad . i haven't played all of the mods but in my opinion had a satisfying difficulty to be honest .you go inside the room thinking that the enemy is just carrying pistols or rifles and then boom quad ssg the monsters variety is really awesome its a great mod the legendary addon makes it more difficult to beat which is i really like the legendary monsters had a cyberdemon strength caliber i cant remember how many times i have died fighting those things . we just needed new sets of buffed weapons to level with those legendary and we're good . its a really great mod and addon it just need some support in the community .its a shame that this great mod is getting left behind

Ah, the Quad-shotgun! One of my favourite weapons ever since Russian Overkill with it's Quad-autoshotgun, and Quad-Shotgun with Quad-Quad-shotgun alt fire.

Also you can try add to the mix, randommons with LCA, it gives you more monster variations and some unique ones, you will see, trust me. In addition, if you want to try more stuff, there's a lot of add-ons for complex, like HEM, Replacer, DJB, ARK, ILCA, Dusted, and the chaotic online co-op in Zandronum.

That railgun looks like the one from the 1997 Shadow Warrior. It's hard to tell for sure, because the guns in Shadow Warrior weren't centered, but off to the right slightly, but I'm pretty sure it's the same gun.

You have given me a few things to think about with a mod I'm working on with a friend. It's basically this but with more stuff. Quite a bit more. Thanks!

Loving your videos still. :D I wish you could start a side series featuring Heretic mods... It is a game dangerously close to being forgotten by most. While being important as it was the real first stepping stone of the long lasting cooperation between ID and Raven. There was indeed Shadowcaster before but who remembers it? Not many. I'm sure even a couple of mod showcase from someone as you could maybe give a chance to that game that always lived on in the shadow of it's brother. (Doom) Perhaps a worst enemy than the serpent riders. A fan can always hope. :)

The MP-40 is in there most likely as a reference to Wolfenstein

I actually REALLY enjoyed Hard Doom. Especially for very easy wads like Doom 2 this is an amazing mod that also does some tweaks to the gameplay without adding too many things. Minor additions like a Minigun, Quad-Shotgun, Grenade Launcher or Sonic Railgun really does enrich the gameplay and the occasional super-variants of some monsters can spice things up as well. I'm surprised you haven't shown that off yet

I'm surprised you didn't recognize that "weird plasma gun" since it appeared in Project Brutality as the hell rifle.

I remember playing Complex doom on a server on Zandronum/Doomseeker And I noticed there were multiple WADS in it, and yeah it was just total chaos and awesome! (this was about 3 months ago) and yea I remember there being a 6 barrel shotgun!!! I'm surprised it wasn't in the video :P Also on that server I was on, I noticed Gold and super versions of enemies, for example there were different variants of Cyberdemon :o and I kept getting destroyed by the Legendary chainsaw zombie? lol... and a legendary Pinky too Anyone know what WAD that is? Or is that the legendary complex doom add on that Icarus mentioned near the end of the video?

Still not as complicated as DoomRPG by Kyle873...

I never managed to repeat that success so I still sit on latest version zipped to archive and ready to launch anytime... PS. anyone know how to wear advanced power armor from Fallout2 in DoomRPG? Could not find any requirements...

@SpecShadow: The Nuclear Power Armor is a high level drop in the RPG/RLA combo. There's no requirements to wear it. You just have to have it spawn.

So it was the Legendary complex addon that I played on Zandronum! The 6 barrelled shotgun is devastating ;D Eh I kept on getting wrecked by the Legendary chainsaw Zombie :\ It would be awesome to see you play some maps with the legendary addon! ;D

Last year, when Mark made an trailer about his Brutal Doom V20, i see a couple of fellas complaining that Complex Doom are most played in multyplayer than BD, them they rage the threat, then the war begun. the ppl who hate Mark and push his dossie about that incident on ZDoom forums, and about "how mark destroyed Doom with his modern FPS in a classic" And, in the other side, the ppl who defend Mark and your effort on making BD. Man, that was a battle so delightful to watch and see the blood and gore in theyr souls! LoL

While watching this video, I could only think of one thing: Has anyone made a DOOM WAD with Diablo-style loot drops? Like random guns with different stats and abilities. I feel like it has to exist, but maybe not executed as well as it could.
