May I just say that your playing is fantastic. Very enviable. I grew up playing the guitar, I can play piano and keyboard but fluidity comes more natural to me on the guitar. I can hear that natural fluidity in your runs in the keys! Super enjoyable showcase because your playing is very entertaining aswell All that being said, I think the one thing that draws me to modular is the fact you can let an oscillator run and run it through a series of sequencers and what not to allow the patch to develop and be a generative patch, I'm trying to break away from sequencing stuff myself for a while to avoid my usual biases and write things that I wouldn't have written if I had been in total control of the sequencing process. As soon as I sit infornt of my keyboard my hands Instantly and automatically go...... C MINOR.

The future is looking bright with this. At least for vintage analog sound in the box. Also see Blamsoft VK-2 Modular Rack extension. Needs more CPU though.

Its been considered one of the best software emulations both in terms of sound and build. Ppl who hate it and say it sounds bad based on presets shown on ytube are noobs. Why dont you guys buy some rompler and stop fucking about a thing you dont understand. If you want unisoned trance pads, this mono modular is obviously not the best thing for your art. 4x oversampled buchla osc sent throu moogs ladder. Cmon. I enjoy every minute spent with this device.

Great, but the thing about not having R 10 is that you save money, cos can't buy this until you have upgraded to R 10 and above; my bank balance will still love me; however, in hardware form, this synth would be hundreds, and at 99 euros, it is pretty good value to say the least.

Correction: a hardware version of this would be thousands not hundreds. A Buchla or Make Noise shared system are the most like this sonically and they both go for around 4 to 5 grand. You're quite right to be excited about this though. It's pretty cool to have this sort of synthesis available for under 100 euros, with a low cpu footprint to boot. Aalto, Cadnium, Softube Modular, VCV with some complex oscillators and wavefolders, Softube Modular with a similar set up to VCV and Reaktor Kodiak, can cover similar ground, while bringing your system to it's knees. This synth and a few other synths and effects in RE format, have made me decide on getting Reason as a sort of semi-modular synth and effects rack to use alongside Ableton and Reaper.

Boring and flat sounds. I don't hear anything that could not be obtained easier elsewhere. Must be me.

@@ElectricNici I ditched Reason (and all my other PC based music making software) when I started working on the iPad. I cannot say I miss it at all. So, I do know pretty much what I'm missing, and judging by the patches that Doug shows off here not much has changed since I moved on. My favourite PC synth was Absynth, but I find those kinds of complex, layered sounds all over the iPad. I've tried many software based modular systems over the years, but I have never been happy with anything that came out of them. I'd much rather mess about with less configurable synths that come with great sounds built in, and tweak from there. As a musician my primary concern is to get a sound that best expresses the music I hear in my head. Complex-1 just doesn't give me anything I can work with. I suspect that may be due to the oscillators being quite traditional. But hey, each to his or her own!
