Your page in Witches Cottage is gorgeous! You really captured the glow of the bottles well! I find that when using markers on certain types of paper it can change the texture of the paper a little bit, so at times, certain pencils may not work as well. I don't think it was your technique as much as it may be the paper type. The paper in Dark Arts looks smooth? If so, I also find Prisma's don't tend to play nice on certain smoother papers. That is not to say all smooth papers - because for instance, Johanna Basford has a smoother paper in her books, but the Prisma's (in my opinion) work like a dream in her books. But for example, Eriy's books have a very smooth texture and I struggle to use Prisma's in them. I think it has to do with the high wax content of Prisma's and the papers tooth. If a smoother texture the pencil tends to sit on top somewhat, instead of sinking down into the valleys of the tooth, so the pencil builds up rather quickly, not allowing as many layers or blending. This is just my experience --- of course everyone colors differently, so it may just be my particular coloring style. So many different types of paper in our books, so certain pencils will work wonders in one and not another. I have been coloring for a long time, so I am usually able to feel the paper now and know what pencils will work well and which ones will not, not always though. I have been surprised at times thinking a certain pencil would not work well and it actually did. Thank you for sharing all your pages, even the ones you don't find as appealing. Your colorings are beautiful and you did some really nice pages this month! Have a great week!

As a professional artist one of the first things that I learned is to pay attention to values. What that means is that you need to make darkly dark and lightly light and then you can have your mid-tones in between. Your coloring all those very beautiful is all mid-tones. In my opinion you just need to add some more very dark darks and some very light lights and that will make things look more three-dimensional and also make these images really really pop

@@d_themessyperfectionist honestly the way that I learned it was from another artist kept saying it and she told me when I think it's dark enough go darker. Of course this applies to your shadows.

Yes, I think the workable fixative leaves it glossy 🥰

Alcohol markers fade. I don't know if that matters to you but the fugitive nature is unacceptable to me❤
