In my experience, the camper ovens tend to burn things on the bottom before they are fully baked. I've found that adding a rectangle pizza stone right above the burner helps to even out the heat and not create the hotspots.

Hi guys, you might want to consider mud dauber screens on your furnace exhaust. We live in Washington state and yellow jackets nested in the heat exchanger. It was a mess to clean them out. When I worked for an RV shop one of the techs said bugs and attracted to the propane smell. I don't know if that is true but the screens are easy to install and save a lot of head aches. What a nice rig, happy for you and enjoy.

Would add a small electric heater. We used instead of the gas furnace. Also have a checkout list for every time you are ready to leave the camp site, ie steps up, door locked, vents and windows closed, antenna down and etc.

Consider getting some type of parameter security video survelliance system installed, so when you hear that bump in the night, while you are sleeping, you will be able to respond accordingly. I would also install stronger locking mechanisms on your important external systems, i.e., water, power, electronics, locking gas cap, etc. I don't trust people with malicious intentions. As our financial and other systems collapse, just remember that desperate people do desperate things. I would hate to see members of my wonderful "KZread" family get violated. You both are awesome!

Also, one more thought - I run my entire 19’ rig (except for a/c and microwave) off of a Bluetti EB70S. I plug our 30 amp cable into a 30 amp > 15 amp adapter (dogbone), then plug into the Bluetti and it charges my rig’s batteries and runs all my 110 v plugs. (I have a video about this setup on my channel. I was pretty shocked it worked). Using prime day sale I just upgraded the Bluetti to an Ecoflow delta 2, but setup will remain the same (I just likely can run the a/c and microwave now for short periods as it has a higher watt output).

Glad to see you decided to keep the black tank. That gives an option if conditions are not favorable for all the other options. It is not hard to take care of. Just dump it when you dump the grey tank when you leave or find a dump station at a truck stop or RV dealer. Be sure to back flush and rinse so that you do not get obnoxious odors and use a really good tank treatment product. It will be very handy at times. Thanks for keeping us up dated! I miss all of your regular adventures and will be glad to see you back out there having fun!

Taking out the toilet is genius level camping move. Nothing to dump, no foul odours..or chemicals. Small Jerry can (plastic gas can) for "number one" (get a she wee or similar for the female of the species) and compostable bags (fill with shavings or peat moss) and you have a separating composting toilet for one hundredth of the cost of a commercial composting toilet. Ammo can for number two "deposits" until you can toss or bury.

Pizza stone on the metal plate a must. Another idea to increase Gray water capacity if not using black water tank is to buy a 3" valve for the end of sewer line, if room and open Gray and black valve. It will allow more waste water storage and easier dump with only 1 valve to open.

Hi Guys, nice camper. FYI the fridge will probably run a couple months on a 30# tank great for boondocking. You can purge any air in the propane line after changing the propane tank by lighting the stove for a minute before turning on the fridge. On my tankless water heater I just turn on the water heater a few minutes before I need it and the water is hot. Drive safe

You need to check your manual about using the gas heat when it's below 38deg. We had a smooth side camper and the walls would sweat with gas heat when it was around freezing outside. The sides went wavy and started de-laminating. After we looked it told us not to do it in the manual.

Since you aren't going to use the black tank you could install a gate valve on your outlet, in the small compartment on the rear drivers side. That way when you open the black and grey gate valves it will combine the tanks. Give you extra grey water capacity for boondocking.

One more suggestion: Small tension rods (the kind that hold cafe-style curtains in a kitchen window) placed in front of all the refrigerator and freezer items you will eventually have will keep everything from falling out on your feet the first time you open those doors after traveling. My Dometic has grooves in the sidewalls of the frig. and freezer that seem to have been made for this purpose. These rods may also keep pressure off those doors and keep them from swinging open when Cody takes a curve too fast.

Our fridge locks, but still things will shift so I do recommend the pressure rods if you can. Also, in the cabinets where you said it was still messy and you hadn’t got it organized yet, Dollar General, and dollar tree and even Walmart have little containers that you can set things in like your spices. It can really help with organizing and keeping things from falling over while you’re driving. I have all my spices set in these containers above the stove and in my pantry cabinet. Of course our stove has never worked since we got it and the replacement is still on back order so we use induction plates and I cook outside when I can. get an oven thermometer so you can test your oven for accuracy before cooking in it. RV ovens are notorious for being inaccurate, so it will help you adjust if necessary. I’m so happy to see your excitement and can’t wait to see your new adventures!

I would recommend you get the max payload off of the yellow sticker, usually found on the driver side door opening. Then determine your available payload as you deduct the truck camper weight, your gear, added weight, etc. After several shakedown trips you will get it dialed in. Truck Campers are great. We put 11k miles in one in 2018. Organization is key.

I LOVE! Your new truck camper, I really think you will enjoy it very much and i look forward to joining you in your adventures via your videos. If I may with regards to the toilet paper and paper towels we keep them in zip bags to avoid moisture and bugs. Some how some way ants and other creators find their way in 🤣 as to the furnace they draw a lot of LP and fast! Not sure if your A/C has a heat strip you can use when on shore power or keep your heater buddy just for a while just in case. Also if you have a Costco membership filling an empty 30lb. Tank is a flat rate of $16 way cheaper then anywhere else. And lastly keep an eye on shower door on inside, moisture and steam will damage that wood paneling. Might be good to wipe down after ever shower. Again so excited for you both, enjoy 😊

Very nice camper! No doubt you’re gonna love it. The switch to lithium is definitely worth it. I’ve been full-time for about four years and made the switch just over a year ago. With two 100ah batteries, a 200w portable panel and a 2000w inverter I could go indefinitely - as long as I didn’t go more than two days without some sun (I had a little 2200 watt generator just in case). Plus lithiums weigh half as much as lead acid.

Suggestion: The oven drawer possibly could hold your campfire Dutch oven along with other pots as you may find the standard propane oven might burn the bottom of muffins etc. due to flame heating element being so close to interior rack. Our rv ovens tend cause this issue. Another KZreadr suggested placing a pizza stone inside on oven bottom to disperse the heating. I’ve not tried as yet but definitely makes sense. Also due to lack of adequate height within these ovens be prepared to butterfly, cut one’s 🦃 in half, prior to cooking as most turkeys sit tall.

Congrats on your new rig/home! I’m sure you’re going to really enjoy it! I’ve been camping a long time, am in my mid 60’s now, and tow an RV. Might I suggest a small electric heater to use when connected to shore power? I know you boondock camp a lot, but when a power pedestal is available, why burn your propane when you’ve paid for hookups in a campground? I’m looking forward to your next videos as you get to know your new home!

I've been following y'alls channel for about a year. I'm soo excited and happy for y'all. I can't wait to see the video of your trial night. I'm glad you won't be freezing in unavoidable ice an wind storms. Y'all have been through alot that many people would've given up the lifestyle over just since I've been watching your channel and have taken 95% of it with grace and overcame every obstacle put in your way. Y'all definitely 100% deserve that nice truck and beautiful camper. Best wishes

To prevent your clothes storage bins from buckling under the weight of them being stacked...you could put in a simple shelf. It will make getting them in and out so much easier and if you also take the curtain rod out and put a shelf up there you'll have a slim shelf to tuck other things in if you need it....if they are small you can find those desk size organizer baskets so they stay contained on the shelf. Also in the bathroom...if you wanted to keep those things you have on the bathroom counter while moving, you could probably just use a bungy cord with a couple hooks on either side and attach the cord whenever you're driving, everything can just stay there. It's nice when you move alot to not have to batten down the hatches all the time...the more battened down permanently they are, the better, especially when you're going off grid on bumpy roads (as you know!) I don't know what it is about campers but it feels like things literally fly around back there while driving! lol

Loving this so much! I wish someone told me that it was more than doable to be happy living remote and not following the stereotypical path of owning a stick build/perm home in the US. I regret chasing statis and square footage; it was expensive without reward. When my buddy told me he bought a dually and camper to tour the Sierras I was curious about why (circa 2011). I should've asked him more questions. Nowadays, I have downsized and happier--love the challenge to live with less. Enjoy your vids! Onward.

We have the same brand of camper, and it’s great. The over the sink dish drainer or whatever u wanna call it works amazingly good. I use mine all the time. However the batteries , we haven’t switched yet but we’re def gonna have to because they did drain to fast. And we bought ours new in August of 19 and we love it. We were expecting a bunch of problems from all the horror stories we heard from others about their camper’s. So we expected to have something happen to us as well. But so far we haven’t had any , fingers crossed 🤞 it continues, LOL. So go have some fun out there without having to dread sitting up a tent, and not having to worry about the wildlife sleeping beside ya, 😂 safe travels guys 🙏👍🧡
