"Catchy"??? Whether you love it or loathe it, for that to be the first adjective that comes to mind, out of hundreds of far more appropriate adjectives, is weird, lol. I love Hi Ren but I wouldn't describe it as 'catchy'. It's 9 minutes long, has no chorus, no driving riff or beat. How is it 'catchy'? It's brilliant, inspired, a work of art, poetic, a charismatic performance, emotional, has complex, profound, incredible lyrics, great guitar playing, especially at the beginning. It's pretty much poetry to music but it's not really 'catchy'. Ren even alludes to this within Hi Ren, "I don't write hooks for the radio" and there are none here. It's definitely not a singalong song, especially after 1 listen. Maybe after half a dozen to a dozen listens. Probably more but even then it isn't really that type of song. If I were to use a more appropriate adjective, I'd say 'memorable', in an emotional, overall sense, rather than in a 'catchy, pick it up immediately and singalong' sense. I'm probably being pedantic but it just immediately struck me as a strange choice of adjective for such a song. It also has a whiff of 'damning with faint praise', which I know wasn't the intent but was the other thing that sprung to mind, on seeing the thumbnail. :)

Yes, it's such a generic way of describing something, like describing someone as "nice". Maybe he just needs time to process what he saw & heard _ needs time to mull it over?
