It will be hell arc to explain anything. Yhwach was first zanpakutou. Souken was kaien shiba bankai and Ryuken was Engetsu. They broke the rule of their division by meeting with injured masaki.

The traditional Quincies just wanted to live in peace like the amish while Yhwach’s Quincies where like the industrial revolution with discovering and making as much as they can.

Its a shame Kubo was so rushed to finish the manga. Would of been interesting to get Ishyda vs Myuri 2

I really hope we get more Souken in a flashback in cour 3 or cour 4. such an underrated character that I'd love to learn more about! His death at the hands of Mayuri needs to be expaned upon !

The contrast between Ywach and Soken's ideological differences is jarring. Yhwach is a militaristic leader who takes and never gives, being willing to sacrifice or purge his fellow Quincies while Soken is the pacifist who wanted to negotiate and give the Quincies new life in the old ways. Yhwach never compromises and treats all as if they are prey in his sights while Soken desperately tried to save the Quincies via reasoning with a kind demeanor. Now with Yhwach gone perhaps Soken's ideals shall take hold in the postwar era as implied in WDKALY.

Best bet is that since they're spirits at that point (entirely made out of reishi) they're able to slow down the aging process. Spirits themselves age very slowly (Rukia said she was over 100 yrs old and Toshiro has barely changed in the ~20 yrs since Isshin left). Ukitake and Shunsui were part of the first group of students Yamamoto taught at the academy. It's feasible that Quincy souls could age much slower under the right conditions

Once I read what Bazz said in the Manga, and started seeing all the powers Yhwach possessed, I started looking at him differently. I don't believe you can put him in a single class of race, he's like a deity, a smaller version of the Soul King. These beings have multiple powers, Quincy, shinighami, and Full bring abilities. I understand by title he calls himself a Quincy, because he kinda fights like one, but he can also strip people of their powers, take and use those powers, enhance others attributes, he can even give Arrancars Quincy abilities. He even uses a sword...which had a name, but Ichibe cut the name, so we never heard him say it. I believe he's a less powerful version of the Soul King, who I believe was millions of times stronger than Yhwach. I also believe the Quincy were around before he was born, seeing as though the Soul King existed before him. Bazz B kinda alluded to that. He's way too powerful to be stationed in just the Quincy category.

I guess that is a big talking point on whether Yhwach was around before or after the Quincies. Looking at this video it definitely feels like Quincies were here before Yhwach. Seems like Yhwach was a human / Quincy born with obscene powers that allowed him to enhance other Quincies while taking it back so he could live. He references himself as a son to the Soul King and maybe he's related to the Soul King IF the Soul King had children which we have no proof of. Still unanswered questions. Since Ichibei calls him a child, I don't think he was around at the time of the SK.

@@zk4761 The Quincy were definitely around before he was born, he uses the word "father" and "son" in terms that don't line up with actually being those in reality... remember, some people in Soul Society don't know the true origins of the Soul King, he's technically the first "Quincy" not Yhwach, he was also the first Fullbringer, and what they call a Shinighami. Yhwach, with his schrift abilities, are from what I can tell, turning the Quincy into Fullbringers, think about the powers they possess, those aren't Quincy abilities, burner finger looks more like a fullbring ability. The soul King and Yhwach are high level Transcendent beings, you can actually put Ichigo in that category also, he's just not tapped into all his different power sets and combining them to be more powerful. He's pretty much everything in Bleach combined, imagine him using Soul Reaper, Quincy, hollow and fullbring powers intertwined with each other.

Well, since this is a Fantasy Battle Shonen anime, it wouldn't be so far-fetched to have a Deity race.

Question regarding Toshiro, since he began displaying his power before becoming a Soul Reaper, would that make him a True Born like Ichigo?

Yes but that isn’t Ichibe’s responsibility In the novels he said him send the Royal guards only concern is the balance of the worlds Even if the world below them were to be destroyed by violence or consumed by it, so long as the 3 worlds stand, it is of no concern to him

I think the split between Yhwach and the rest of the quincy happend when he was born. Since he gave people abilities by being touched and some of those people he cam in contact with probably had children and these people were quimcy but as Yhwach grew up he took control of a group of quincys and thats why he had to conquer the rest of the Quincys.

If it were in SS then the Quincy are souls not humans! How was Baz B and Hash around that long ago?! They had castles and were riding horses! They were all 'humans' at first. The empire was on earth, possibly in Europe and where germany is. They conquered a good portion of the land, 'technically' being the most powerful force of the world of the living. They decided to attack the Soul society because of yhwach, but apparently Yamamoto attacked them first in the world of the living (this is kind of confusing, but appears to be what happened. The source is the novels and Kubo's answers on klub outside.) Here comes the speculation: maybe they all 'died' in the war and became souls, and that is how they are still alive and can live so long and hide in the Soul society. Or, Yhwach just can empower people to live that long and that's that. Another idea is that the sternritter are all younger people, and they just are the generation that is alive by the time of yhwach's return, and they are the children of the quincy of old times. Yhwach also was shown recruiting humans and even arrancars, so some of them are just random people he found and gave power. But the old ones, like bazz-b, jugram and Lille, are either souls or have some immortality given to them by yhwach or their own powers. The idea that yhwach is the father of all quincy is also questionable, because it appears he says that by his connection to the Soul king, and not by his true own blood. Maybe he eliminated all the other lines of quincy and just allowed his followers to survive? Maybe he has a part of the Soul king related to quincies? Or maybe he is just exaggerating it a little... Hope it helps a little, but most of it is speculation or some answers here and there. Not at all absolute truth.
