Aloha Sean! I’m still trying to figure out if I like Abiu. My Z1 grafted tree is productive but the fruit is watery and tastes like spoiled pumpkin 🤮 I’ve bought them at the market and they tasted very similar but I’ve heard so many people talk about how good they are and I’m sure there’s something to that. Maybe I just haven’t found a good one. 🤙

That’s what I mentioned in the video, I haven’t found the grafted varieties to be that good, but seedlings have been delicious

I dont fertilize them, ours is 3 years old, pruned every 3 months or so, its about 12 feet tall now, pruning it for orchard size. We use indigenous micro organisms. Healthy soil is better in the long run for no maintenance fruit trees. Just prune and harvest. Sun and airflow are key! They love water, we live in the humid tropics

I just use compost and mulch to feed my trees. IMO’s are great too!

I also went to check out your store (although the link in the description doesn’t work for me,) and I thought your prices were reasonable. As an avid seed saver myself, I don’t think many people understand the amount of hand labor and effort that it requires, nor how rarely cultivated some varieties are today (but by hobbyist and homesteaders!) Particularly if you are selling seeds that must be planted within a week of being harvested…. That means you have to harvest them and ship them right away! It’s not like you can just collect a bunch and store them. 😂 And it’s not like anyone is going to find them at the garden section of Walmart. 🤣 Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love your teacher’s heart, and while all the tropicals in my yard are pretending to die in this subtropical winter chill, I enjoy seeing your new Hawaiian homestead projects and ideas! Keep up the good work, yeah? 🤙

@@southtexashay777 You could probably pull of papaya, lilikoi, longon, soursop and maybe rollinia. Just keep them moist, plant on the southside and use plenty mulch.
