Complete Build of 3000 gallon indoor/outdoor saltwater fish tank - SPEEDBUILD
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
A quick broad-scope montage of the build and the landscaping that went along with it. I wasn't really planning on sharing the journey so it was not greatly documented in detail. However, in the next year or so we have some bigger plans ahead which I plan to properly detail to share/inspire and bounce ideas off each other so be sure to stay tuned. Enjoy!

It was so bad my laptop closed by itself....
Was expecting a much larger sump room especially for a 3000 gallon tank! Would love to see some corals even though he previously mentioned that the parameters and outside environment make it difficult to maintain corals. Just imagine seeing an easy to keep coral like soft corals grow to their natural mature sizes like a gigantic toadstool coral!

I agree, I was planning to do a much larger sump/filtration room, but ended up downsizing because we had some other ambitious plans for where the refugium is now... but ended up not following through so we ended up with what you see. One of my biggest regrets with the project. Soft corals are definitely something I plan to experiment with in this setup, hopefully sooner than later, just need to have the time to really dedicate for that and make sure the parameters dont swing as much as they do seasonally. That was part of the plan the whole time to have massive colonies of soft corals, but we all know how plans go lol I am very curious how they would fare with our northern sunlight.

@@TheWildWillauers there are some corals that people even consider pests, some clove corals you could put in a toilet and they would survive.
Love the music
legend. All shall bow down to you sir.
I am completely in awe of this! The amount of work that went into this is completely mind blowing, very very nicely done.

This when you think you've already seen everything ... A Cool / Cold idea !! Nice job man!
You did a great job documenting the build, and also very nice you were able to incorporate the old tank as a fuge!
This is one of the craziest builds I have seen in a home. Great job.
Be happy with that build. I’m continually watching KZread for different fish ideas and this build definitely stands out. Everything from the pond build to the landscape all tied into one masterpiece. Very well done 👍.
I had no idea it took that long to make it! So cool, the finished product is definitely something to be seen no doubt!
The song !! I only noticed it when I read the comments lol . OUTSTANDING work . There are always a few videos that stay with you for a long time . This was one of those vids !!

This song is my jam!
This is sick
One day I will love to have this in my home .
What a wonderful random recommendation from YT! This is so amazing to watch! Though I have to admit, my mind was not in the 21st century... but back in the 20th century... specifically, in the rolling 20’s... legs swinging back and forth with this ever-repeating music... man! So tiring! Phew! What a work-out! My legs are no longer mine.. But, what a BREATHTAKING build! Love the color of the fish! I wouldn’t mind shwimming with the fishes (in a good way)!

There must be a incredible amount of heat lost during nights and winter months. How are you combating that problem. How are you also combating the algae growth with the direct sunlight coming thru the window

I didn't even think about the loss of heat. Maybe this would have been fine in places that don't get to freezing but now I think the tank might be in trouble

My guess is an insane amount of maintenance, daily. There is absolutely no way to avoid it, under those conditions .

Possibly has a insulated panel that is put in place during the winter months to cover the glass/acrylic? And only took pics with it off during the winter for the "WoW" factor
@eric4052

@@mcbridemotorsports5788 That’s possible, but even double plane windows have to be engineered to prevent heat loss like that. Furthermore that doesn’t solve the continuous and rapid amount of diatom and hair algae problem caused by exposing a tank to direct sunlight.
Well done you patient patient person lol amazing job absolutely gorgeous .
Great music!
Amazing job i wish 1 day I can something like that 1 day .
Just incredible......
Wow this is crazy
The fish must be so happy to have such a large tank

Oh man I am sorry to hear that, it’s never fun to lose a fish let alone several. People think Im crazy but I get attached to these guys and when they don’t do well it really gets to me. And you know I think any sized tank can be amazing. I find “smaller” tanks to be the most beautiful because of the attention to detail that goes into it. And that’s awesome that you and your 11 year old can bond over the hobby! hope to see your tank set up soon!
