Complete Build of 3000 gallon indoor/outdoor saltwater fish tank - SPEEDBUILD

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

A quick broad-scope montage of the build and the landscaping that went along with it. I wasn't really planning on sharing the journey so it was not greatly documented in detail. However, in the next year or so we have some bigger plans ahead which I plan to properly detail to share/inspire and bounce ideas off each other so be sure to stay tuned. Enjoy!

    Was expecting a much larger sump room especially for a 3000 gallon tank! Would love to see some corals even though he previously mentioned that the parameters and outside environment make it difficult to maintain corals. Just imagine seeing an easy to keep coral like soft corals grow to their natural mature sizes like a gigantic toadstool coral!

  • @TheWildWillauers

    @TheWildWillauers

    I agree, I was planning to do a much larger sump/filtration room, but ended up downsizing because we had some other ambitious plans for where the refugium is now... but ended up not following through so we ended up with what you see. One of my biggest regrets with the project. Soft corals are definitely something I plan to experiment with in this setup, hopefully sooner than later, just need to have the time to really dedicate for that and make sure the parameters dont swing as much as they do seasonally. That was part of the plan the whole time to have massive colonies of soft corals, but we all know how plans go lol I am very curious how they would fare with our northern sunlight.

Though I have to admit, my mind was not in the 21st century... but back in the 20th century... specifically, in the rolling 20’s... legs swinging back and forth with this ever-repeating music... man! So tiring! Phew! What a work-out! My legs are no longer mine.. But, what a BREATHTAKING build! Love the color of the fish! I wouldn’t mind shwimming with the fishes (in a good way)!

    @@mcbridemotorsports5788 That’s possible, but even double plane windows have to be engineered to prevent heat loss like that. Furthermore that doesn’t solve the continuous and rapid amount of diatom and hair algae problem caused by exposing a tank to direct sunlight.
