Complete 'Biff Tannen Museum' video monitor footage revealed - a BacktotheFuture.com exclusive
Фильм және анимация
BTTF.com has recently uncovered a copy of the complete video monitor footage from the 'Biff Tannen Museum' scene in Back to the Future™ Part II which Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) watches at the museum's entrance while he's looking for answers about his father's demise.
This never-before-seen clip is an extension of the material we briefly see on film, featuring some elaborate glimpses into Biff Tannen's (Tom Wilson) ill-gained rise to fame and power in Hill Valley.
The 3½ minute segment was digitized from an old VHS tape which had been saved by a Back to the Future fan with family connections to the film production at the time the sequels were shot in 1989-1990. To date, the following clip is not available on any other commercial collection, including the recently released 25th Anniversary Trilogy Blu-ray Disc and DVD boxed sets.

Many people have never seen this clip before and wonder why they never showed it on the DVD as a bonus: The time traveling has erased it, DUH!
It's stupid this wasn't an extra feature in the dvd or bluray Collection, so thanks so much for recovering it.

Different voiceover in this, maybe he didn't consent to want to record the full thing or something lol.

This looks like a sort of workprint or footage library with placeholder narration that was to be replaced by the famous Hollywood narrators voice. There also a lot more footage here than what was shown playing on the monitor at Biff's casino.
I love how they put so much work into this to only show like 10 second in the movie.
The Biff to the Future comic is good too, as it shows the whole 1985A timeline
"He must've been listening when I... it's my fault. The whole thing's my fault. If I hadn't bought that damn book, none of this would've happened." "Eh, it's all in the past." "You mean the future." "WHATEVER!"

Love the idea about Biff having so much power and influence in this alternative 1985 that they have a complete fabrication of his youth as some fact. Biff never played football in high school and the reason he had to repeat his senior year was because he was a lousy student. In this very obvious lie (for us viewers at least) they claim they made him repeat the year to use his "athletic prowess" Since Biff controls everything he can have them write whatever he wants them to in Hill Valley history

Imagine if the real life Ken McElroy the bully of Skidmore Missouri, became as rich & powerful as Biff Tannen.

Did he never play football? Obviously, they lied about the reasons for him being held back, but I would have figured him for a jock.
Note that Biff is on the infamous "Monkey Business" yacht, which played a part in destroying the Presidential campaign of Gary Hart in the late 1980s. This is obviously a rough version of the video since it lacks both music and Neil Ross's voiceover.
What a great man!... #MakeHillValleyGreatAgain
I wish there really was a Biff Tannen museum, I'd visit

This is a pretty accurate take on how history is written. You build up and glorify the person you are advocating. Acknowledging their good aspects, putting into centre stage all the great achievements in their life while downplaying or just ignoring all the shit things they've done or any vices they may have. At the same time you fabricate information or outright lie to make your guy look like a hero while also turning their enemies into over the top assholes. History is written by the winners.
The immediate surroundings of the casino in Downtown Hill Valley: “Welcome to the Salty Spitoon; how tough areya?!”
It's too bad that all of this effort went into this when most of it ended up cut from the final product. Really cool video though. BTTF II is my favorite hands down.

@TTEchidna I thought that BTTF2 was filmed back to back with BTTF3.
The way-too enthusiastic voice-over in the film is much better. You'll remember, that was the same voice from the pod in Innerspace & other 80's movies. But who the hell are these guys? Sounds like a voice from a public service ad. That said, this is very cool. Thanks.

This seems like a sloppy first cut.
They did a good job of making the video seem like one of those cheesy vids they play in museums and what not.
If this video really was playing outside of a museum, no one would ever bother to go inside. The video tells you everything about Biff Tannen completely for free. I love how it keeps saying "Learn how..." as an excuse to just give the audience exposition.
@guitarsword15 Not mistakes. Early design of Buford. They hadn't begun shooting the old west scenes of BTTF3 yet.
My Back to the Future viewing experience is now fulfilled.
this is so cool, wish more BG videos from other movies would be existing
2:25 - "And turned Hill Valley's dilapidated courthouse into a beautiful casino hotel."
@guitarsword15 Back to the Future 2 and 3 were made at the same exact time. One released fall 1989, the other summer 1990. There weren't "mistakes" in this video, it was just dramatic license for thematic effect. Because really... if we're going to start having a problem with small things as Ransik does... there are MUCH MUCH bigger "problems" with these movies. The correct reply to his claim is "shut up and enjoy the movies asshat. What with all the good that's here, you focus on THAT?"
I would much rather live in Biff's Hill Valley.
They missed the part where he was a presidential candidate
I can't drive, FIFTY FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!
Nice!!!
Does this guy remind anybody of someone, like maybe, an American president.?
interesting to ear how the sound was originaly designed to be in the movie background

In the actual movie, Biff Tannen Museum video was narrated by Neil Ross.
pretty cool.
Real talk, they should’ve left the 5th year of high school bit into the final movie to give a glimpse of how much of an ass Biff truly was…
Wow.....
Different voice-over from that which features in the film.
@InYourFaceNewYorker Well biff was 17-18 in 1955, so he would have been born in about 1937, so if Mad dog was in his mid thirties in 1885 it's not unreasonable that he would be his grandfather. Makes you wonder was biffs grandma in 1955 Mad Dog's wife...

+ContinuumSpanner It's funny because the following year after the BTTF trilogy ended, Michael J. Fox was in a movie called The Hard Way.
@hossrex Yeah, it was taken down in I believe 2007, and converted into 'The Simpsons Ride' in Spring of 2008. It's just as well, I heard that it had been starting to malfunction/ fall apart a lot prior to its closure.
