  • @ptrishagamin6398

    @ptrishagamin6398

    @@certifiedyogateacher I'm not sure what method she uses, I would simply poke the armature wire ( leg wire ) into it with a bit of glue and then add a bit of wool at the joint and felt it on attaching the two together. I'm sure there are other ways.

    It depends on what you've used in the structure of your animal. Like Ptrisha says if the legs are made with armature you could poke the wire from the leg into the foot etc. Quite often I will add these feet to a purely wool made animal so I add a good tuft of wool to where the 'ankle' would be. Stab it into the foot and then stab that into the animal. Or build the leg up around the foot and attach that.

    I used aluminum wire to do a fairly large horse sculpture, and by the time I got to the 3rd leg it broke at the knee, I had to get very creative to fix it. I no longer use it and have moved to a steel ( non rust) utility wire I get at the local hardware store. It comes on a 5lb roll and costs alot less money than craft wire.

    Good idea. Not great that it broke though. Must have been frustrating. Once you get to larger wire it's really about strength, so yes using a strong wire or at least reinforcing by twisting is a good idea.

  • @FittobeLovedFelts

    @FittobeLovedFelts

    Yes you can choose whatever size you like. Bigger will need more wool but can be easier when first trying to get the details right. Bigger needs good strength of the wire to support the wool.the smaller you go just watch your fingers as more likely to stab yourself abd wrapping wool over wire can be trickier.. I'd go no smaller than 6 inches on a first project. I've not managed to do my fox video showing the rest of it yet but just look at lots of photos for fur colours and details and I'm sure you'll be fine. 😊
