I was able to come up with this quick enough to play a smooth turn lol

Which counter was targeting "only you?" Most counters "Counter target Spell" not "Counter target player".

Rules Lawyer doesn't affect itself. It says "other permanents", so you'd need two on the battlefield at the same time.

R&D secret lair can break ashnod's coupon (you can ask a player to buy you a drink and it has an errata "you pay for the drink", but with secret lair you ignore the errata so you can force somone to spend money for you which is probably the strongest effect we can have).

Another way to break R&D is with companions not needing to pay three generic mana to add them to hand, instead, you just get to play them from the sideboard.

The best play with Common Courtesy is when they ask you permission to play a card you say "yes" and then play another counter spell from hand.

Best play with Common Courtesy is to deny permission, wait for the counter-and-sacrifice to go on the stack, and then play an instant in response to it. Common Courtesy still on the battlefield so if they cast anything in response you get to two-for-one them.

RND secret lair helps companions the most.

Rules Lawyer doesn't quite make your board invincible. While damage effects won't do anything, cards that say "destroy" do because those don't rely on State Based Effects like damage does.

You can use R&D's Secret Lair to ignore the errata on Ashnod's Coupon and you don't have to pay for the drink. So, the player you target with Ashnod's Coupon most likely will have to buy it. Also, while they're away from the table getting said drink, sneak all the Cheatyface cards in your hand onto the battlefield.

Truly a 300 IQ play.

About R&D secret lair, there are erros in translation on some cards that make them more powerful in other languagues if you play as written. I remember planar chaos had a shadow rat that cause EVERYBODY to discard when it causes damage to an opponent. But in the portuguese translation, it says your oponent discard a card instead.

The funny thing about Common Courtesy is that you have to ask yourself for permission. Got me a few times when playing this card...

The best combo that I know of with R and D Secret Lair is with Ashnod’s Coupon. If you’re able to combo with them you can force your opponent to concede.

I think this is the content I prefer from you. It's like Custom cards on steroids‚ the pure Danger experience and unfiltered Nikachu reactions are great.

I have a running joke with Cheatyface in my commander groups. I'll slip it into my hand and play it under another card I'm casting, only to show it after tapping the card I hit it under, or wait till they're all paying attention to another players turn and put it into play. I get away with it at least 50% of the time. I don't actually keep it in play. I just do it to test if anyone is paying attention.

Stacking Double Stacks would be amazing. Imagine resolving 3 of them in game 1. Start game 2 by drawing 6 additional cards.

The card with the "yes or no question" can theoretically stop a player from conceding. It was a part of a combo somebody came up with that let you tear up every card in the other guys deck. You ask them "will you concede this turn" and they say "no" and you then play this combo that turns all their cards into a copy of one of the cards that say to tear it up.

Animate Graveyard is nuts. Just play a control/mill deck and find out how to send some combo of creatures with stuff like haste/hexproof/shadow/trample etc to the graveyard throughout the game. Then you slam that down late and one shot your opponent! Boom!

A good way to play cheatyface is to tap 2 islands and put him into play. He costs 3 but looks like he costs 2, so you are not actually using to mana to play him. Then you are free to use the mana on something else.

I built a "Foods I Hate" deck focusing on cheese, fish, and eggs, and the Cheese Stands Alone won me at least one game.

Frankie Peanuts, if on the table, can cripple counter magic. > Will you counter my first spell this turn? If they answer "yes", you play a completely useless card. If they answer "no", you play game winning pieces.

I once got about twenty cheaty faces in one of those blind Ebay boxes. I just put them in the sleeves with my lands, and put tokens in the rest of my sleeves so i wouldmt have the advantage of knowing what I was drawing. Revealing a bunch of CF was really satisfying.

There are a few printing mistakes. Rath's Edge produces 2 colorless instead of 1 in the German version. So with R&D's secret Lair it produces 2.

Fun fact! A version of Hydradoodle was printed in the AFR Commander set, Neverwinter Hydra. It’s the same dice rolling, but it has Ward 4 instead of Reach.

I recently saw a short with CardmarketMagic talking about a friend of his playing Frankie Peanuts, and the exact scenario you described happened. He was asked if he was going to block, immediately got called on it when he said yes, and a judge was called over and agreed with the friend that his response was in error, so he had to go back and change his answer and ended up losing.

In Silver border cards, Summon Nikachu actually makes the this channel show up at a game anywhere on earth. It is more powerful than a Cameo account.

I've made a pretty effective Baron Von Count deck in Commander. I use a lot of cards that have most/all of the numbers from 1 through 5 on them somewhere (such as Zulaport Enforcer and Staff of Domination), so that I can reliably move the doom counter, and I've managed to "destroy target player" with him a few times. There was even one game I played against a poison deck, and I was up to 8 poison counters and would surely die to poison on the next turn, but I was able to cast enough spells with the proper numbers on my final turn to get Baron Von Count's doom counter all the way to 0 and destroy that player. Also, I imagine R&D's Secret Lair would be highly effective with the Companion cards (like Lurrus) that have the old pre-errata rules text, where they didn't say you had to pay 3 to add them to your hand first. Oh, and if I ever somehow acquire a Blacker Lotus, I'd obviously never rip it up, but I might decide to use it as a proxy for a regular Black Lotus. (Just like how I might use a Command Tower as a proxy for a City of Brass in a non-Commander game.)

R&Ds secret lair + a pile of unhinged cheatyfaces (not unsanctioned printings) works really well 12. hurloon wrangler: removeing your pants is a game action that doesnt use the stack

The ask people outside the game cards have gotten better with cellphones becoming ubiquitous 😂

animate graveyard with indestructable, hexproof and a way to create tokens against sacrifice, the only danger would be cards that give -x/-x, but depending of the size of the graveyard it wouldn't work either

common courtesy also gets around effects that stop you from casting spells on an opponent's turn or make them cost more on an opponents turn. maybe a good sideboard card.

Frankie says "if able", that should avoid most rules violation. Fun fact : there is an illegal card in Yugioh that lets you steal your opponent's soul (it's also a pretty bonkers card outside of that).

With Frankie Peanuts in play, you can ask your opponent, "are you going to counter the first spell I play this turn?" Or "are you going to block this creature this turn?" Etc, and then based on their answer, you can play advantageously. If they say they will not counter your first spell, you play your bomb first. If they say yes, you cast something small and force them to waste their counter. If they say they won't block your creature, you pump it up before/when you swing. There's definitely ways to make it good

It’s hard to judge un-cards without playing them sometimes lol. Like the asking for permission card. Someone will start to forget to ask lol, it’s just a matter of time when the board state gets complicated. I think asking for permission card is better than you might think!

Note about all the "Double" cards (ie Double Take) is that they can target players not in your game. If you are on your last game with an opponent, you can target someone else in a different game (have to be in a game to count as a player) and draw two cards at the start of your next game with that player. Especially useful if you know you are playing them next or have a good idea they will be in the finals. A number of these cards (lots of Unglued cards, not just Double cards. And a few other cards in other Un-sets) were designed with the idea of targeting people in other games as the primary intent of the card.

Frankie peanuts is my favorite un card. You can ask if they will counter a spell, and if they say yes you can just play a bad card. If they say no then you just go off. You can also build your deck around Peanuts with some choice cards that give your opponents the options like Browbeat and ask “will you choose the first option?” And then you can cast a choice card that hurts them more depending on the choice. if they sacrifice permanents, you can ask “Will you sacrifice the permanents I will point to later this turn?” And restore balance their best permanents: If they say “yes” you point to their good permanents, if they say “no” you point to their bad permanents. The funny thing is, Hydradoodle was functionally (almost) reprinted in Forgotten Realms Commander as Neverwinter Hydra. The only difference between the two is that the Hydradoodle has reach, and Neverwinter Hydra has Ward 4. Oh yeah, and Neverwinter Hydra isn't part dog. I don't know about competitive, but I use silver bordered cards in some of my EDH decks. Nothing broken (except Earl of Squirrel), but on theme (e.g. two of the alternate Garbage Elementals in my Cascade and Battle Cry decks, respectively).

In a sanctioned tournament, would you have to have another copy of Blacker Lotus or Chaos Confetti in order to avoid getting a penalty for an improper deck? Or would even that not save you?

Booster tutor can be played with collector booster packs that have multiple rares

about booster tutor: worst case scenario you just take the one land that's in every booster pack. nigh time on nightmare moon i think would work in a werewolf deck where night time happens. frankie peanuts works at making your opponent commit to an action, no matter what you do, if you as your opponent whether they'Re going to block, counter spell, or whatever, you can play around that, if they say yes, you can force them to waste resources, if they say no, you'Re free to make your play.

Hmmm I wonder if Frankie Peanuts works with cards like Wheel of Misfortune where you secretly choose number and stuff like that? Lol they gotta be truthful with they're secrets

R&D's Secret Lair would let you play your Ikoria printings of Companions with the old version

Rules Lawyer doesn't say anything about protection from being Exiled, so basically any spell that can target and exile or exile everything will deal with this. Also, returning everything to hand and counterspelling it. In Commander with four players on the table this isn't that hard to deal with. However, yeah, it is absolutely broken if nobody can deal with it for some reason.

Frankie peanuts real use is : are you going to counter my next spell (and then depending on answer use a good or a bait spell) and richard garfield probably allows you to cheat some costless cards also cheese stands alone exists in the game : Barren Glory

[edit] Oh, original Rukh Egg didn't specify "... from play" in its original printing, so discarding it would create your 4/4 flyer at the end of turn.

There's actually a setup for The Cheese Stands Alone, get an Academy Rector into play and then nuke your side of the table as part of the cost to play Kaervek's Spite. You can exile the Rector to tutor up Cheese to the field and instantly win! You can even do this combo legally with Barren Glory, just do it on your opponent's end step ;D

You could ask a judge for a proxy of your blacker lotuses as you destroy them so you only have to destroy 4 per tournament. But idk how many judges would let that slide

Haven't finished the video so I dunno if this'll make me look stupid, but R&D's Secret Layer would also kinda disable a couple creature tribes. Not that Phyrexians are super competitive (as a tribe that is, not infect or Toxic as a mechanic), but I imagine taking a big bite out of all dinosaurs could cause some havoc

Actually , 'Booster tutor' is a very viable card on any virtual environment such as Magic Online. Also , 'The Cheese Stands Alone' became a real cards by the name of 'Barren Glory'. You didn't noticed on another of your AI episodes that 'Auratog' is a card that already exists.

Frankie peanuts questions: are you going to counter (this specific card in my hand?), are you planning to… etc. get an idea of what strategy they’re thinking about.

frankie peanuts is kinda of bad, because it is IF ABLE, so if you ask "will you counter my next spell", they can answer yes if they dont have a counter, you play your decoys spell and they dont need to counter it, they can still lie, as long is they are lying about something impossible i guess you can ask if they are goig to block with on specific creature, if they say "yes" use a creature with deathtouch, if they say no, you use you big creature to attack

Here is a tip on how to break Frankie Peanut and forcing the opponent to do whatever you want (admitting you can only say "yes / no" to answer the question) 1 st step: play Paradox Haze to have 2 upkeep and get the Frankie Peanut on the board. 2 nd step : ask the 1st question "will you answer the next question that I ask with the same answer as this one?" (yes / no, whatever) 3 nd step : Ask the 2nd question and do whatever you want, because they can only answer "yes" to this question 😂 (some ideas for you: "will you resign the game this turn?" "will you marry me?" "will you buy me a mcdonald?" "will you do the dishes today?")

Anything that would give I Am Rubber and You Are Glue would make it broken because you won't have to be good at rhythming because you can just cast it in response to the spell you want to change the target of.

Common courtesy is not bad you could bring it back from grave is one of the upsides.

Squirrel Dealer is broken slightly It only says if they like squirrels you get a squirrel, not if they answer that they do. And it's a demonstrable fact that EVERYONE loves squirrels, so it really just says when ~ enters the battlefield create a 1/1 Squirrel.

so cheatyface is actually decent sometimes. if your good a distraction lol. like for example acting confused about a card an opponent played an asking them to read it as its on the table and you lean over acting like your reading it. ive gotten cheatyface on the field so many times without my opponent noticing. (yes we do play games with un cards sometimes Xd)

I can't believe solaflora, intergalactic icon from unfinity was missed, that thing would be busted with something like helm of the host.

Competitive play has so much searching, there will always be times to cheat a cheatyface into play. Your opponent will often be looking somewhere else and they have to catch you "right away"

Fun fact about R&D Secret Lair. Many older cards, when reflecting to a player that isn't you in third person, uses "he or she". Meaning if R&D Secret Lair is on the battlefield, any cards that mention "he or she" don't affect people that use they/them or neopronouns too I guess
