    Ive watched a lot of your vids now. You're very entertaining to watch and i love the irreverently fun yet, knowledgeably informative style of your channel. You're editing and quality of production are excellent. Additionally, you're quite a likable and charming personality. It's remarkable that for mostly being a one man cast and crew, with exceptions you are able to hold the viewers attention as long as you did my own. Bottom line, you're great. You've got a genuine talent for doing what you do. This episode was among my favorite simply because of the drama inherent in the arc of the competition story. I found myself caring about you doing well in the competition and rooting for you. That's very good! One thing that could make this kinda episode even better still might be to have someone (a friend) that you are also competing with that after each challenge you could humorously compare your scores to. Personalizing your competitor (albeit humorously like you did with your wife in another vid) is usually more emotionally engaging than the drama of bettering a ranking percentage. Having said that, however, another part of me appreciated that you went and did the competition alone because you are self motivated to improve regardless of competition. Lastly, did you happen to notice that in the beginning before each challenge you would kinda negatively self-talk about how bad you were gonna do on that challenge? But then as time went by you stopped negatively self-talking as much and magically started doing better? It might be worth remembering that you are only as good as you believe. Our beliefs about ourselves manifest into reality further when we speak them out loud. Often they become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Anyway... Just a thought for the next competition... I Love the channel. Keep it up!

    It takes balls to join in on one of them competitions and I have to say, you sir are a legend for keep trying. The guys you were competing against live and breathe guns and black powder and have done countless matches. To be even NEAR the 50% of all them guys is an incredible result. Once you have done 10 competitions, things will be already a lot different then now. Well done Matt.

    And that is really what it comes down to. Get a Gun you are comfortable with and set up similar targets where shifting positions feels natural. Most everybody can shoot and hit well when stationary. Once you put movements into the shooting, things change drastically. It becomes an art where split seconds make all the difference. Not even counting in the nervous limbs that make you miss twice as much. I think it helps the most, when you are really convinced your gear wont let you down and your skill is reliable. Nothing will make you more nervous than doubts. What helps me the most is lifting a few heavy weights before shooting. You are so relaxed and nicely warmed up, it feels great to shoot, just don't be worn out :P

  • @randoprior4130

    @randoprior4130

    7 жыл бұрын

    THEDEAD 01 yes it definitely would. I am a bladesmith and just basic metallurgy means that any hardened steel should and will cut a lead bullet in half if fired onto the edge provided the the edge geometry is not at such an acute angle that the blade does not have true strength (straight razor, hollow grinds, etc) or to obtuse that the force of the impact is transferred completely into the hardened steel which would quite likely shatter the whole blade in half. for example if he was to take a proper samurai sword with good edge geometry and shoot a 50 BMG at it, I would be willing to bet that it would not even deform the edge. the force behind the bullet only aids in splitting it down the center which keeps most of the energy in the bullet fragments and doesn't transfer into the blade as much. lead is very soft and hardened steel is incredibly tough. Hard beats soft unless the energy can be transferred like a giant punch. if you shot the same samurai sword on the side of the blade even with a low powered round like 7.62x39 it would likely shatter the metal (depending on the grain size of the sword) sorry for the rant but I've seen this test on forged in fire and to me it is quite anticlimactic.

    People have been splitting rounds with axes for over a century at this point. Not sure about .223, or 5.56, but random handgun/revolver rounds you bet your sweet ass. Splitting a round in two and hitting two different targets has been a widely popular stunt with both the audience and the shooters. Been done over and over again. Hell, just search the Tube and you'll find multiple shooters pulling it off. Bill Munden is my personal favorite for neat revolver clips.

    I've been following this channel for a few years now and can honestly say that I like the competition videos the most. I compete in GSSF matches at my local range and am traveling to NC for my first USPSA match so you can say I'm a bit bias. I know its probably a long shot but if you can make some Ranch murch geared more towards your competition fans, I'd stock up on some!

    Me, and one of my friends set us up a 2gun course this past weekend(no shotgun). This is the first time that I had ever did anything of this nature, and I found out that it is VERY DIFFICULT. I missed more than I should have, and was also wayyyyy too slow at transitioning. Get out and set up a course, and time yourself. If you have never did anything like this, it will humble you. That's for sure! But, we still had a blast!!!!!
