Howzit going everybody! In today's video my friends Blake, Matt and I went to the 2023 National Spearfishing Championship in Kona. We spent days scouting, met a lot of amazing divers, and of course competed in the tournament, giving it our all in hopes of a good result for our nationals debut. Enjoy!

Well that looked like it turned out to be a great tournament that benefited the reefs in that area. You were able to adapt and overcome and learned some valuable lessons. Not just diving but life lessons as well. Congratulations to you and all the other competitors 🤙🏼

Yo great vid bro! And so cool how you figured out how to fix the mask at all. That’s how my bad dreams go about diving, I finally get in the water and always have some crappy malfunction 😂😂😂

It’s just about a guarantee to have a gear failure of some sort on game day! Be prepared because it’s always something. My wife lost a band, it wasn’t even a knot or the rubber that failed but the plastic insert that the wishbone tied into that broke. Luckily I’d brought an extra, and was able to give her the 16mm band from my gun and use the extra 20mm that I’d brought. But props for figuring out a fix on your mask and getting back in the game, there are a lot of people that would have just called it quits with a failure like that and no spare mask. Overall, a great performance from you guys. And it was cool to meet you 🤙

@@zaching no, that band was literally the only piece of spare gear we brought this time, had anything else broke we would’ve been screwed lol. We are used to diving competitions from a boat and have an entire extra dive bag with backup gear on board. This was our first time with kayaks

@@Kumukarl yep and chased on the bottom at 70+ feet by a big ones(multiple times) I honestly hate eels more than sharks 😂😂🤷🏾♂️
