The block is 30mm thick with a 25mm dia hole bored through which matches the dia of the watersnake shaft.

Great vid thank you! Do you think this method is better than drilling a hole through the mirage drive plastic cassette ? I have an eclipse I’m about to try and get my torqueedo 403 setup for.

you can do either but I like the simplistic block approach. Much neater and less bulky than the large cassette.

What's the diameter and the length of the locating pin? With this open design, did water splash up during motor use? Also is using the locking pin as the load bearing did it prove strong enough? Flex? Long term. Problems? Cheers.

The locating pin is 8mm but some trimming/grinding on the pin ends may be required to get a snug fit. You're trying to replicate the mirage drive pins and how that fits. There is a slight amount of play so don't need a tight fit. This is stronger or at least as good as the mirage drive plastic unit itself. No problems with this set up. The 60mm spacing is not critical so just copy the spacing and fit of the mirage drive pins. The kayak plastic in the well area is quite thick and is designed to cope with a few accidental knocks on the drive such as hitting submerged branches, logs etc.

If talking about the block Drill the hole slightly smaller eg 9.5mm hole for a 10mm pin. Lubricate with water and a very small amount of liquid soap and hammer in.

Or if you mean when dropping into the kayak opening, it needs to be positioned the ideal depth down and the pin the correct width. Ensure it sits snug with no movement of the mirage drive body.
