Out of all the gear I’ve bought for scuba, my Perdix ai is by far my single Best Buy. If something happened to it, I would go out and buy another.

Looking to buy one myself now too. So far my best buy so far is the orcatorch d630 cannister Light. Amazing value for the price. Cannot wait to get my hands on the Perdix!!!

I bought the perdix AI because about 90 percent of people recommend it if it's in your price range. I've had it 2 season and about 60 dives. Never had a problem and I absolutely love it. (Correction, I put in a non brand name battery and it showed up as about half full battery even though it was a brand new battery. Made it 2 dives and it was in the red but never died on me. Changed to a brand name battery and hadn't had a problem since)

love yr guys Chanel thanks for all the great insight its been vary helpful along the way. im purchasing a dive computer soon but cant decide I've seen the videos you've done on both separately but could you do a side by side comparison between the scubapro G2 wrist VS Shearwater Perdix AI please. at this point i think im leaning towards the perdix

I really like my Perdix AI

I have both the Petrel and the Perdix AI. Choosing between them is a bit like asking to name your favourite child. My Petrel is hardwired to my CCR whereas I run my Perdix AI as a standalone backup - that's the main difference: you can't (yet?) connect the Perdix to a rebreather. Having said that, you can't (yet?) connect AI transmitters to the Petrel. Only other difference I've noticed is that the startup screen on the Perdix has more options to customise it - you can upload an image as a background. I've got my photo on my mine so anyone honest finding it lying around on a boat can fire it up, see my ugly mug and hopefully hand it back to me, even if we don't share a language. If you're hiring them out as a dive centre, you could put your company logo on instead. Both the Perdix and Petrel allow you to put your name and phone number on the startup screen. In the water, they're both superb. Lovely bright display that even my knackered old eyes can read. The software has also clearly been written by someone who dives. They both prioritise what you're most likely to want to do at any given moment. If you're on a CCR, bailing out to open circuit is going to be your main concern; if you're on open circuit and on the way up, changing to deco gas is going to be top of your agenda. Horses for courses but they're both great!

Sweetness man 👌 you should take some of the products you show an take them out on a dive an get it on video probably get a ton of views with you out on a dive 😁 I’m definitely looking towards getting a dive computer soon

Unless you need a connection for CCR I don't see any reason to buy the Petrel, when the Perdix is the same price, and if you are willing to pay more you can get the Perdix AI, for only a little more you have the option to upgrade to AI, and it will hold the value better as the used market the AI version is in more demand.

After my twin regs this will be my next major purchase lastly dry suit

Perdix hands down, at least in the US. I have only seen the G2 in stores, never seen someone actually buy it. Shearwater also has Awesome Customer service. As stated in the video, the Petrel and Perdix use basically the same software. You can expect Free updates for at least a decade.

I didn’t know the Petrel couldn’t connect to AI transmitters. That kinda sucks, really. I love my Perdix AI, wouldn’t use anything else now that I’ve used it.

If the Garmin descent had AI, would you choose the teric or the descent ??

@@jonpaul4935 i have the teric, love the Garmin MK1 multi tasks idea but it doesn't go that pro on diving , i love my teric, light is triple more powerfull, cutumisation is amazing and color palette too (i'm colorblind so for me it's a must have)

@@xtx5081 sorry it took me a year to respond. It is the best for one simple and undeniable reason: 👙 chicks dig the Teric👙

The original Petrel 2, with the replaceable polycarbonate screen protector, is still basically indestructible. I'm reasonably sure I could run it over with my car, and it'd be fine 🤷

You can see this guy is trying to sell the perdix in his shop….. “petrol look a bit old fashioned” a couple of weeks previous the petrel will of been the dogs bollocks
