Really good review, good pic and sound quality, you're well spoken and you correctly call the magazine a mag and not a clip...and you didn't stick your finger inside, you trusted your eyes to see if the weapon was empty. All good qualities and common sense. I'm a Glock guy, have the 19 gen 4, and G20 gen 3 and have had others, but plan on a Ruger SR9C and a Sig too. The XDM is on my list to get and the M&P too, love them all. The XD and M&P will prove to be as good as glocks as time goes by.

good review. i've been on the fence between an xdm compact and the g19 myself. Found a used Gen4 that just might be too good a deal to pass up and figure I can't go wrong with either!

I love all of them but I go for glocks and HK, sig, XDM

On the xdm not locking back on the last round fired. You may want to check your grip. It's easy with with these sub compacts to inadvertently ride the slide release lever with your right thumb, if that makes sense. Just a thought. Nice review.

Problem was with the ejector and I have heard it has been corrected. This was what the hoopla was all about.

@TheEnder42 Unfortunately that wasn't it. I tuck my thumb down so it is nowhere near the slide lock when shooting.

I would say you are a Glock guy, as I'm an XD guy. I have an XD-40 SC and NEVER have had a failure of any kind. Perhaps limp wristing while firing a little bit? I dunno. Either way both are phenomenal firearms.

It is probably locking back because your grip is touching the slide release lever. This is a common thing. Make sure your thumb isn't touching the slide release.

Can I swap out the gen 4 spring for my gen 3?
