It seemed obvious to me when I watched it. Age plays an important role in this series, even looking at the 3rd part, but it should be noted that in this universe there are no children, only cars function like adults right after production (Although the Cruz story challenges this theory). The problem is that it is not explained whether they are made in the factory or are born (it would be pointless, but Italian cars had parents in the 2nd part). It is also interesting that some live for 100 years, some die, and some at 30 are scrap.

It's only made so it follows the "narrative" and have coherent visuals to the movies, the Cien was displayed in 2002, which according to this list, it's younger than mcqueen

I always get a kick out of the really old fossil cars having the audacity to call Lightning McQueen old lol

Even though Cars 3 came out 6 years ago now, I’m still very unfamiliar with that movie. I’ve seen the first two Car films enough times to be familiar with them, but Cars 3 is still new to me.

My jaw dropped at that part! I legitimately had no idea the Cars franchise actually features a Tesla as one of its characters! However, the Tesla Model S came out in 2012, and the first modern electric car, the General Motors EV-1, didn't come out until 1996.

Funnily enough, apparently Chick isn't a Buick "by decree" - GM didn't want one of their cars portrayed as a villain, even though he's still obviously modeled after a Nascar G-body. Also, there was no rear-drive Monte Carlo in 1988, nor a GNX in '79.

@@saltbombcreations8336 it was initially a joke but I would be lying if I wasn't upset about some of the brands they technically made extinct due to their management. The company im most upset about is Saab. I'm a Swede and a Saab enthusiast. Saab wouldnt have survived all that long but with GM, they got the shorter end of the stick, at least imo. Most companies bought by GM fall like a sack of potatoes. Others don't, but a lot of them have done so. If you don't agree or see it that way, all good, but it does seem quite odd how many makes have gone under while they were run by GM in specific. Makes me wonder.

Both are very similar but the Superbird’s wing is moved slightly forward and the Charger Daytona has the word Daytona on the rear left and right. Also the Daytona is still being produced by Dodge while Plymouth was discontinued in 2002

cars age like cars. take care of them, and they'll last for a long time (depending on the car). But if you don't take care of a real car, it may only last 15 years

This list doesn't makes sense. Some of the cars are only an stylish inspiration of car types from different genres. For examples the White pickup whas just an 90's pick up that could be an GMC, Ford or Chevy. Pickups from those times were almost the same with Small differences in headlights. Also McQueen isn't based on any car. It's just a mix of a muscle car, 90s viper and a nascar car

It seems to me that Lightning is a mixture of Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette, because there is a Chevrolet Corvette C6.R (Jeff Gorvette), which is not at all like Lightning

nah he kind of resembles a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix stock car but there is a little bit of a fordish look there too.
