Comparing Saskatoon & Regina: 6 Reasons Why Saskatoon is Better Than Regina - Saskatoon vs. Regina

In this video I am going to outline 6 ways in which I think Saskatoon is better than Regina.
These are the 2 biggest cities in the Canadian prairie province of Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan is growing rapidly and many newcomers are choosing to move to these cities. Saskatoon is the biggest city in the province and Regina is the provincial capital. The metro populations are roughly 342,000 for Saskatoon and 250,000 for Regina.
I honestly prefer Saskatoon over Regina overall, but I also really appreciate Regina and so this week I'm going to post a video discussing ways in which Regina is better than Saskatoon.
In this video I outline the following reasons why I think Saskatoon is the better city:
1: Better overall vibe
2: Lush river valley
3: Bigger better downtown
4: More walkable areas outside the downtown core
5: Better post-secondary schools
6: Better food scene
Please leave your comments below, I'm interested in your thoughts on Saskatoon vs. Regina and Saskatchewan in general!
If you're interested in watching more of my content, please consider subscribing to my channel - I upload about one new video per week. I am new to KZread/video production and I look forward to improving with time and consistently posting videos of value.

I know it’s unlikely, but a rapid train system connecting winnipeg , Regina , Saskatoon, Edmonton , Calgary would be incredible. I understand the sheer size of Canada makes rapid train travel difficult, but it is a dream of mine to have functioning hi speed train lines connecting cities across the country

@@kieldrake1535 I would have to agree with Vince on this one and saying that not enough people live here is just an excuse. I'm pretty sure that if we had something like that connecting the two cities, a lot of people would use it regularly, especially those who cannot afford or drive a vehicle. Those people make up a good portion of the population, then you also would have those people who would choose to take the tram-train rather than driving because of various reasons such as, they don't actually like driving, or perhaps they need to go to saskatoon in the evening but can't see well in the dark, oh and also, on a train you can actually do things to entertain yourself, like read a book, play a handheld console, you can even sleep if you desire... you can't if you're the one behind the wheel. Also, take a look at the netherlands, none of the cities there have over a million people and most I believe, have about the same population as sakatoon/regina, yet somehow they are able to still have trains everywhere. Oh and if you decide to use Canada's size as justification for not having trains, all you need to do is take a look at the past. Both the US and Canada had trains going everywhere and the population of towns/cities were also a lot less. And technically we still do have trains going everywhere, just not for passengers. There is absolutely no reason to not have trains that can carry passengers between cities!

Agreed, and the " wellness centers" drove the riff raff through the roof wandering down town. They think a stadium will solve all their problems. My personal opinion is maybe you shouldn't have sold every demolished/ empty lot to impark (bc company) . They finally started cracking down on unpaid parking tickets issued by city. Last year was over 2 mil.

One of my favourite perks of living in Saskatoon is proximity to a large variety of lakes; ~2 hours to Lakeland/Waskesiu, ~4 hours to the Churchill River area... I could go on. Bang-on about the restaurants. Calories and Konga are our two favourite go-to's. Don't bother with the chains, the one-off mom & pop places are plentiful and much more tasty. :) PS: Super honest and accurate review. Your b-roll footage is superb.

as someone from Regina, you aren't wrong. too much organized crime in this city, makes people want to drink. we also have almost 30% more dispensaries than toon town, even though Saskatoon has a higher population. worst part is Regina has one of the highest police force budgets in Canada/per capita. Vancouver, Quebec, Toronto, and Montreal are the only cities with a higher budget per capita. its disgraceful.

Born in Saskatoon/family is from all over SK. Been going to both cities my whole life, whether to see family or on tour. Firstly, the food point is 100% correct - Regina is okay, but if you have a vegan in your party, the options become very limited. Saskatoon also has a far more vibrant and active music scene. Always have had a good time playing in Regina, but there's times where I can't book a gig there because there's just nothing going on. Saskatoon has had a lot more bands and has been consistently reliable and fun in that regard.

Circle drive is awful compared to Ring Road. U of S is in general better (and much larger) than U of R.
