    You do not have to prove anything to anyone. You are who you are, and that is all that matters. More importantly, Allah Most High chose you to utter the testification of faith, just as your soul did on the day of "alastu bi rabbikum?".. This is all that matters. Salaam from Amman.

    Italy was not surprising. Sicily was an emirate and ruled by the Kalbids from Yemen. After Norman rule, many Muslims left after the massacres of 1161 and then Fred 2 forcibly migrated all of the Muslims to Lucera and then sold to areas in North Africa. Jews left during the Inquisition. My relatives became Catholic and stayed.

    Hello recently in the past 5-6 years or so I noticed that Israel's Mizrahi population is around 44-50% of the population yet a lot of them are hateful against Arabs or even being called Arab despite living amongst Arab Muslims and Christians in Arab countries over 8 centuries longer than the Ashkenazim have been around Muslims. Why do you think this is the case?

  • @asafbenari12

    @asafbenari12

    2 жыл бұрын

    Because Arab Muslims constantly persecuted Jews. Mizrahim were never considered to be Arabs, instead Arabs told them to go back to Jerusalem, harassed them, murderd them, also in recent history there are plenty of massacres caused by Arab Muslims. And now, they are in Israel and again, get attacked by Palestinian Muslims. So there's of course hatred against them. Many Ashkenazim have a problem with Germans for obvious reasons, the same goes with Mizrahim towards Arabs. That's also the reason why Ashkenazi Jews are more "open" towards Arabs and or Muslims.

  • @YouAreUnimportant

    there are many reasons. one of them is that when the first immigrated to the zionist state the european zionists were racist against them and mistrusted them because they came after israel was established (through war and ethnic cleansing) and didnt contribute to the war. so the mizrahi jews tried to get accepted by being the most zionist and anti arab of them all to get accepted as loyal citiziens of israeli society.

    @Shalom Shalom That's not true at all. "Muslim" in hebrew is "muslemi", and it's a modern, burrowed word from arabic. It doesn't exist in the bible and ancient hebrew. It doesn't even use the same letters. The word you chose, which is actually pronounced "mushlam", has the root word "שלם", with the letter "shin", whereas the word "muslemi"(מוסלמי) uses the letter samech", in accordance to the transliteration rules between hebrew and arabic - س = ס, ش = ש.

  • @jonathan13co

    @Shalom Shalom Look, I've already had conversatiosn with people like you before, who look at biblical verses in hebrew with no context and no knowledge of what they're talking about. You're deluding yourself to see things that are not actually there. Your argument can be taken apart by a simple understanding of what the verse says and what the biblical writers meant to convey - and trust me, they never tried hinting anything about the birth of islam. The concept of islam didn't exist when the scritps were written/passed down vocally and they were not prophets. Do you even understand what you're suggesting? Regarding transliteration - the letter "ש" in hebrew has 2 forms -shin(שׁ) pronounced as "sh" and sin(שׂ) pronounced as "s"(notice the dot dintinguishing between the 2 forms). This explains your confusion. "Shin" will never be transliterated with س, which is the point I meant to convey - mushlam and muslemi and 2 completely different words, with different meanings and origins.

    @Shalom Shalom Yes. Finding similarities between ancient hebrew and arabic is indeed interesting, but it's to be expected as they're sister languages. Also, the phrase used in the book of job isn't very similair in meaning, but it does use the exact same word, "kabir", which is shared among many semitic languages.

    Okay so what if you disagree that you’re Yemenite Arab not Yemenite Jewish? I called My Heritage and they said they don’t have samples to compare to the Yemenite ethnicities so they default to YemeniteJewish. I don’t call that accurate data but guessing. My family has no Jewish blood it felt bogus to me. We come from Arab decent. It was a little insulting and it felt like they had a Jewish bias. No offense but I doubt Yemenite Jewish was correct on the ancestry so I feel your disappointment. I don’t think they got that part right.

    You are right, myheritage does not have a category of "Yemenite Arab" and therefore you get "Yemenite Jew", in her case, she knows she has Jewish roots from Yemen and therefore it makes a lot of sense. In your case, you probably don't have Jewish roots. I understand that it can be disappointing to receive something that you are not, especially when spending money on these tests. I assume that eventually myheritage will have a category of "Yemeni Arabs" and then you will get more accurate results
