Am I Adopted!? I Took An Ancestry DNA Plus Traits Test (Ancestry DNA Test Results)
Ойын-сауық
Today I took an Ancestry DNA plus traits test to find out once and for all if I'm adopted. And today I'm sharing my Ancestry DNA test results which ended up being far more interesting that I had originally thought. Overall I enjoyed the process of finding out what your DNA reveals about yourself, and I think I'll have to go over my results in more detail to understand them further. As for the traits section of the Ancestry DNA test kit, I don't think they got all of them right, and some of the traits they test for seem very unusual and not something I was particularly interested in. I'll definitely have to explore the family connections from my results too! But let me know what your thoughts were on this Ancestry DNA plus traits kit, and let me know if you've ever taking a DNA test before, and whether there were any surprising or shocking finds in the results!

Oh, this was fun!!!! At my son's request, I took a 23andme test recently, and the various traits that my genetics show are often hysterical, usually spot on, occasionally waaaay off the mark. A couple of my favorites: Fear of Heights -- More likely than average to be afraid of heights (✔), Misophonia -- Average odds of hating chewing sounds (so hate!), Cheek Dimples -- Likely no dimples (✔), Eye Color -- Likely blue or green eyes (✔ blue), and Wake-Up Time -- Likely to wake up around 6:58 am (spot on, every f-ing day). As for ancestry, 64% British/Irish (specifically from greater London and County Kerry!), 34% French/German, and a smattering of Greek. LOL! Another wonderful video! But with all the spitting in recent videos, please make sure you're staying hydrated 😉Have a fantastic weekend!!!

And my ethnic breakdown is 78,8% Scandinavian and 13,9 % Finnish and 7,3 % Baltic.
I've done my DNA with Ancestry too. I'm Australian, so I was excited to see where my ancestors came from (there were stories that we had a First Nations ancestors). I found out that I'm 53% English, 24% Swedish/Danish, 9% Irish, 4% Welsh, 4% Scottish, 3% Baltic & 1% Bengali and 1% North Indian. So no Indigenous DNA, but subcontinental DNA is pretty wild! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if we're matched with our DNA!

It’s dead interesting this! I quite fancy doing this! Apparently there is Romany gypsy blood somewhere in the past. My mum did the family tree and discovered a relative on my dad’s side who was a “travelling man”. When my dad was alive, but poorly, blood tests were done and the Dr asked if we had Romanian family, because of his blood group!

I did an ancestry test and was a bit disappointed with my results. I’m 78% English which was no surprise, as my Father’s Great Grandfather was Cornish and my Mother’s father was from the East End of London. But the thing that interested me was DNA from Prussia and Norway (yay! Vikings!). I’ve found many 3rd or 4th cousins, but no 1st or 2nd cousins, which is what I hoped for, as we lost contact with my father’s family over time. New matches are turning up all the time which is fun, but I don’t follow a lot of them up. It annoys me that you have to have a paid Ancestry account to see some of the information in detail. I’d recommend people who are interested to do it, especially if you are into genealogy and want to know your family history.❤
Hi Anthony , You're results for endurance sports is correct. You should explore endurance sport as a health benefit. You will be astonished by your endurance potential due to your Vo2max profile. The genetic marker for great endurance athletes is a high Vo2max. 0:55 I have no desire to do a DNA test, but I’m actually coming at it from a different angle: I’m adopted & have known it my whole life! (Even if my parents hadn’t told me it would’ve been quite obvious. 1 Canadian + 1 Irish ≠ a Chinese child 😂) Instead, I’ve thought about what I would’ve been or could’ve been had I not been adopted. Most likely I would’ve had a really tough life, so I’m very thankful for all that I have today thanks to my very pasty mom & my slightly less pasty dad who decided to fly around the world to adopt me! 🤣 edit: Sometimes I wonder if I was from a royal family who had a secret affair, but then I remember that China’s been under the CCP for far longer than I’ve been alive & my dreams of being a secret princess are crushed 😂

Hi Ant, The earlobe bit is something you can see in women's earring ads. The ad people don't want the lobe to overshadow the earring so they prefer ones that are attached and not the "free" or dangle style. Take a close look at some women's ads and you'll see what I mean. I know because I knew as a teenager I'd never be able to model since I have "dangling" or free earlobes. The ad people want the emphasis on the earring and not the earlobe. Things have been changing, slowly. There's probably a bit (a lot) of the classist and racist element to it as well. 🤨 But as for the DNA kit, I gave my son 1 to do probably 4 or 5 years ago and he said he just felt uncomfortable having his DNA out there. So at 63, I figure how much damage can be done to someone who's on the short end of life? HA!So I'm going to do it! And you gave me the push! Been a hugh fan and subscriber for about 2 years now. And can't wait to share your personality, and sense of humor w my son when he comes home at Thanksgiving (34 more days) YAY! As always I so look forward to every episode you do. Oh siblings can be evil lol! I was always told I was the 'milkmans son' because I don't really look like my family 😆😆
I'm waiting on my results....and it's taking FOREVAHHHHHH!!!! Aaaarrrgggghhhh!!!! Right now my DNA is at step 5 of 7. I grew up being told that my dad was my biological father and I was adopted by my mom only. I found out about 2 years ago that I was lied to all of my life! I was adopted by both of my parents and I have no idea who my biological mother and father are truly. I was told things by one of my uncles about what my biological mother looked like and where she came from. The family I was raised in were a very prominent family in the city. I had 4 sets of grandparents and my dad's mom and dad left me nothing after they died because I was not blood related. Growing up my dad's mom always compared my 1st cousin and me....of course my cousin always came out on top no matter what it was. My family dynamic was odd: half of it were judges, police officers for the city, my dad was the state police chief and we had legislators and mayor's. The other half of my family was Dixie Mafia, drug runners and bookies/secret gambling joint owners and gamblers.....there's so much more. We bred, raised and trained Appaloosa Horses and some American Quarter Horses. We had peacocks, crazy-cool witch doctor chickens, cockatoo's and parrots and much more! I must say that my life was NOT a boring one!

Thanks for doing this test. Now I know don’t spend the money lol. Sun-sensitivity sneezing exists! My family lives in a very hot n sunny place and my dad, brother, myself, my daughter go outside and the sunlight goes up the nose to the eyes n brain causing sneezing. Dr says it’s a sun migraine coz its like a lightning bolt up the nose to the bridge of nose. All very interesting results there. While birn in USA my dna is Scottish/Irish with a little Native American Indian thrown in. Two great great grandmothers one each side were Native American Indian.

You said you were told there was some Romanian, but it didn't show up, I would do some genealogy research and follow the paper trail. My ancestrydna does not say I have French, but I know for a fact that on my mom's side, my 2xgr-grandparents, he was born in Quebec (French) and she was born in France (23&me says French & German 7.6%). Also my paternal grandmother was born in Scotland, but her paternal grandfather was born in Ireland, but it does not say I have any Irish in me. Ancestry also says I am England & Northwestern Europe 57%; Scotland 31%; Wales 6%; Norway 4%; Sweden & Denmark 2%. My maternal grandmother was French & Welsh; I am assuming the Norway, Sweden & Demark were from the Vikings invasion of the British Isles. My mom's paternal side is English; my father's father was born in England and his mother was born in Scotland.
