@@hugojapa3343 the intonation is pretty natural as far as Italian pronunciation goes, had he tried with a deeper or more Japanese-like tone it’d have felt awkward and off compared to the rest of the sentences. Imo he did a good job, yeah maybe not on the same level as the jap sub but still pretty damn close

Love the Italian one better I've never heard an Italian Dub before but that was pretty good sound truly like a villain

Even Doflamingo's name is a reference to one of the most famous Spanish work of fiction.

​@@bdletoast09 once again, you say Doflamingo which is fine of course, but what about Kyros? what about Rebecca? what about Viola? what about the Colosseum? what about the Donquijote FAMILY... that is literally a mafia reference, (hence once again, italian) the fact that Gats (the announcer) and most of their soldiers are ancient greece inspired, the flashback of Dressora and the fact that the king burned the whole city is a reference to Nerone one of the most famous roman emperor.....and again, i could go on and on about it, Dressrosa is not just spanish, it is just a mixture of the mediterranean countries...even the toys and how Doflamingo control everyone like a puppet is a reference to the famous puppet theatre in Sicily. And as you said, i would never say that Water 7 is just a Venice reference, because it would not be true as well in the same vein.

Yeah this is what annoys me the most about the old german dubbing. There seems to be an effort made to supress any kind of emotional expression. I don't even think it's the actors fault, but has more likely to do with certain directing decisions made in Germany in regards to Anime dubbing. It really is a shame
