Product Description:
This series of Bibles are named in honor of Alexander Maclaren, a 19th century Baptist minister that fortified Christianity in Great Britain at a time when the British Empire exerted tremendous influence around the world.
The NKJV Compact Bible, Maclaren Series delivers the poetic and contemporary New King James Version translation wrapped in a compact binding that is comfortable and convenient to carry. The text is line-matched with the text on the opposite side of the page, heightening the reading experience of God's Word even more to keep you in the biblical stories. Highlighting the headings and verse numbers in blue brings another layer of elegance to the text and provides a glimmer of regality from the Victorian-era in remembrance of the faith of Alexander Maclaren.

Classic 2-column paragraph-style format
Exclusive NKJV Comfort Print typeset for smooth reading experience
Two double-faced satin ribbons
7-point print size

Thanx, Brother Tim 🌹🌹🌹
I have lost my patience with "edge lined" when they have the lined in the block side. It makes my pages crinkle and doesn't stay open. When placed on the cover side, I like it. As done on that, I would prefer paper paste down or no "edge lined" but with that vinyl past down. Rant over. Thank You for showing us this.
Yay for the Baby Maclarens! Thanks for the shout out!
I have been using this compact Maclaren NKJV edition for several months now. I love the fact that it is a black-letter, paragraph-style layout and that the verse numbers are in blue. It's so nice to read even in this small format. My only gripe is that it features a limit set of translator notes. They must have reduced the set to save space but then they expanded all the NKJV abbreviations and even verse references for OT quotes. Surprisingly, they still included the Special Abbreviations page in this Bible even though there aren't any abbreviations at all in this edition. What a mess. Why not just include the full set of translator notes with their original abbreviations? At least the full translator's preface is included.
Spiffy! I gasped at the lined paper in the back! What a nice touch. Thanks for the review.
A double column makes sense for a reference or study bible. A single column is more appropriate for a reader bible. Its not like Thomas Nelson couldn’t have bulked up the pages a bit in a single column format. That would have made better use of the small size which is a shame, because its really an elegant, well-designed bible.
Thanks for the well done review
Another good compact is the church Bible publishers bibles. Great review.
I usually can't read smaller print below 8pt comfortably. However this comfort print is amazing I can actually read it.
I love mine. A gift from my wife for Christmas. It has become my travel Bible/Sunday church carry Bible. We'll done Bible. With time I hope it lays flat as that's my only gripe. The txt size wasn't a issue for me.

Yes, I agree it doesn't want to lay flat. The edge-lined construction probably adds to that issue, but hopefully will break in as time goes on.
Great review sir. Much love from Philippines.
Nifty!
Great review, I appreciated the comparisons. I'd take the Maclaren hands down if it was the same size as the PSQ. As it is, they went a little too small for me.
Great review and comparison Tim. Thank you for sharing
🙂
Great review. What was the music at the beginning?

Listed at the bottom of the description page. I liked it as well
Does the maclaren have thicker paper then the psq?
Alrighty then
It’s like a Pitt Minion on steroids.
Tim, are there any large/giant print NKJV, NIV, or NASB95 premium Bibles? Thank you, Sir. (Nice music, BTW). 🌹🌹🌹

I suggest checking evangelicalbible.com for large print premium Bibles. The full size Quentel, for example, has a very good size font and is available in various translations.
Do you think that genuine leather is cowhide or pigskin?
Hi brother, I sent you an email to enter me (Yoshi Sierra) into the February giveaway, I’ve been searching for a compact travel for me since I decided to give my all to the creator, I really hope that you consider me at least. Ty
