If you wanna hear this woman REALLY sing and pour her heart out, listen to her not so famous songs: Siempre hace frio, God’s child(baila conmigo) with David Bryne, Tú solo tú, and captive heart. She has a whole live album(there’s footage as well) that you can/should react to. Really all her live performances sound better than studio cause I feel like they watered her down and raised her voice in the studio versions. She sang “Where did the feeling go” at an award show. Everybody everybody showcases her high range as well for English songs

from this same concert you should check out "el chico del apartamento 512", "techno cumbia", "bidi bidi bom bom" and "si una vez" to see the full range of her voice and style. She was definitely trending decades ahead of both english and spanish markets in some respects to the style of her sound. and of course, we can't forget that this was live and before such a thing as auto tune existed. nearly an hour of non stop, singing, dancing and entertaining without really breaking a sweat and no water breaks. unrivaled to this day for her quality. oh also, you should look up the lyrics for this song "como la flor", this is really an amazing song and it shares a theme with a number of her other songs particularly "no me queda mas" with it's theme of lost love, moving on and being the bigger person.

Thank you for such a lovely reaction! Selena continues to mean so much to the Latino community and left such an incredible legacy even to this day, especially if you’re paying attention. For example, recently Cardi B (not that I’m particularly a fan of hers) had a performance where she’s essentially wearing the exact same outfit that Selena is wearing in this concert. I would recommend you watch 1) the Selena movie with Jennifer Lopez 2) Selena live la carcacha (where she’s wearing a black leather jacket) as it really shows off her dancing skills as well. Cheers!
