Underrated performance by Cheruiyot. He’s definitely the class of any 1500 race he’s in, always ensuring it’s fast and giving it an honest pace from the start. I think a lot of Jakob’s racing tactics and strengths can be attributed to his rivalry with Cheruiyot in the years leading up to the Olympics.

After his second place finish at the Pre Classic and after his 3:47 mile I thought the win in the 1500m was gonna be between him and Jakob and then Jake Wightman surprised me. huge congrats to him tho. I feel like he will be a huge threat in this years World Championship

As an Aussie watching this, two things stood out. The first? The commentators overwhelming love for Jake Wightman. He had him winning the gold before the race, it was gold at the 400m mark, then the 800. The commentator had Jake Wightman winning gold at every point in this race and then the Aussie won. The second thing that stood out? THE AUSSIE WON!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍

@@johnstirling6597 Yes, he knows a thing or two about running, but even the most intelligent and knowledgeable of us can sometimes get just a tad carried away and can be a just a tad biased toward our own folk. I'm a Kiwi, by the way, and I honestly did get just a teeny-weeny bit annoyed by the commentary. There was a point where someone was pointing out that they were, of course, all just playing into Wightman's hands. At that point I started arguing with him. I started almost shouting at him in an Aussie accent: "Ya reckon do ya, mate?" "Bollocks ya silly bugger!"

@@Sqid101 Likewise, me a Kiwi, (have not lived in NZ for 40 years). I was always on the Ollie train, if you know a bit of his back story this was always going to be his make or break moment considering recent events, a shame Stewart McSweyn was not in the field, but still would have backed Ollie. I didn't think Wightman could back up in 2 major champs so close together, was really happy to see Sam Tanner run the time he did, great future for him. Geordie Beamish should have been in the 1500 not the 5k. There you have it. 😁😁

We are robbers, liars, adulterers, sinners, when we go to the court, the only way to pay for what we did is to go to prison (you can’t do good deeds to repay the bad you’ve already done, you have to face the consequences of your actions), if our sin was done against a policeman, the time spent in prison will be higher; judge higher, president; higher, the punishment against God is eternal prison, but if we have someone that will pay our debt we will be set free and this person is Jesus Christ. If you accept in your heart that He died for your sins, today, you will be saved and you’ll never be able to lose your salvation.
