Question #3 actually goes against all the rules of "common sense". The only way you can enter a pitch black room and see the newspaper, oil lantern and wood sticks lying inside of it is if the match was already lit to begin with prior to you entering the pitch black room. To reiterate what the narrator said in the beginning of the video: "Common sense ain't so common". 🤣🤣

The elephant and giraffe in the fridge questions were quite common when I was in 2nd grade. Someone used to ask you that riddle nearly everyday. And the 3rd question was another version of this Noah's ark riddle.

This video was the last straw. I'm moving to a different country and changing my name and dying my hair. Never will I see myself in the mirror the same again.

A lot of these questions are phrased in a certain way to make them technically "trick questions". More like naming the video "Most people won't understand these ambiguous questions". You show three items on screen and say which of THESE items would you light first, of course you know you need to light a match first but you trick us with pictures and expect these are common questions...

Point 8 is wrong : “in some months there are 31 days, in others there are 30”. This implies that we are counting the total numbers of days of the month, otherwise you wouldn’t say “in others” since all the 31 days months also have 30 days. So the way the question is asked it means that the total numbers is counted, so by all means the proper answer would be that only one month has 28 days. A better way to phrase the question to achieve the desired response would be “months can have 30 or 31 days…”

By that logic, the same amount of children should fail the quiz because they're too naive or inexperienced at life to understand the true meaning of the questions.

yeah, that's true an also at the end he said that all of the crocodiles were on noah's boat, but noah just took two animals of every species. one male and one female, so they can breed. that's common sense too!

There is such a thing as over simplifying. And that's what many of these are doing. It's not about common sense. If it was a common sense test, the tester failed. It is common sense that putting a giraffe in the bottom part of a fridge wouldn't freeze it.

This video’s logic: there is a river full of crocodiles, how do you get across? You swim across because there are no crocodiles

To make your example more appropriate: There is a river full of crocodiles, how do you get across without dying? You simply swim across, as none said that you are trying to cross that specific river filled with crocodiles. lol

See now that’s more like common sense

You could cut the giraffe into pieces. The narrator never said that the giraffe had to be whole. When I had seen the Noah's ark question, I was expecting him to say Moses instead of Noah, which would have been the tricky part. You see, there was a trick question that involved an ark, and the name Moses was used, but people were so focused on other aspects of the question, that they didn't notice the incorrect name.

Can someone send me a link to this test I gotta try now lol

The last two of the questions I had different answers to: A. “Which animal didn’t get on the ark?” Well, I doubt the fish want to suffocate. B. “How do you get to the other side of the river?” Just go around it.

The simplest answer to 12 & 13 is you just don’t. Those animals would be very uncomfortable for no real reason

I would call all of this uncommon sense. It reminds me of something that a computer would do if you failed to program it correctly - not blaming the computer though.

I remember being asked these questions when I was a child & I still responde same which tells me your findings are wrong!

Actually, none of them. I went to school in the 1950's and remember the questions from that time. They were slightly different but near enough that I could recognize them.

The question about Noah's Ark's animals showed a whale in the water. We know it didn't get on. All the other animals WALKED OR FLEW. We knew it cannot.

I feel like BRIGHT SIDE doesn't have common sense with these questions.

Common sense should be changed into common knowledge because different people has different cultures, hence different opinions. Facts are not.

Question number 3 must have been written before Thomas Alba Edison harnested electricity for LIGHT SWITCHES to be invented. The question says dark pitched room, but why not just use your hands to feel around the walls for a light switch? 😐 This is depressing!

I came to this video to point out that common sense was never a reality. This video proves me right in the first 10 seconds. Don't people get sick of saying "common sense isn't that common"? SIGH
