for the Narcotics, Morphine and Fentanyl is also used in the rehab, nursing home and hospice. I also applied in this kind of institution because these are the only nearest where my husband house is and he doesn't want me to go far I'm not familiar yet and also I'm thinking during winter, I'm scared to drive in a snow, it's scary, no matter how good you drive the snow is slick, slippery because it becomes icy. Michigan here.

Hi mama RN, share ko lang yung dito samin sa California. Nung nasa SNF ako (worked as RN for about 4yrs), we RNs do start/insert IVs, still remember back then we use macrodrip tubings manually calculate the drip and count the drops 😂, ngayon puro iv machines na hehe, tho we don’t push meds but only used it for IV piggybacks to admin atb and fluid hydration. Then, samin commonly used sleeping pills were Temazepam (Restoril) or Zolpidem (Ambien) I’m surprised you guys don’t used them, baka outdated na ko, that’s 10yrs ago bago ako lumipat ng dialysis hehe.. Nice content mama Rn, brought back memories nung nagtatrabaho pa ko sa SNF/Subacute. Happy weekend!

Hi! we use Ambien in the hospital but not much in SNF :) and we seldom insert IVs no instances to do it either. We still can but not much of instances to do it. Usually may PICCs na sila kaya walang chances maginsert ng IV. :) And, not all shift din kasi may RN. karamihan LPN and QMA na ang tao sa SNF. Ang RN either sup, charge or DON 😅

@@Jasonnishh Yeah, usually one RN sa buong bldg na 😅 pero hindi per unit.. and hindi din lahat ng RN umaako ng responsibilities esp agency RNs.

I think nursing practice vary from east coast to west coast. We have travel nurses that come from midwest or east coast that say “it is different” here in Cali. I think its based on specific CA BON regulations that make the practice slightly different. Goodluck to all new RN’s. ❤

Any idea how much is the starting pay for RN’s in long term care? Is it comparable to RNs in hospital setting?
